Nice modern Japanese restaurant in Griffintown.Ambiance: great decor, very modern but a bit too loud for my liking (I know… I am getting old)Drinks: had the Watermelon Margarita which was very tasty, but not that strong. Was missing a bit more tequila. I then ordered a regular Margarita and made it a double (that definitely was better but came with a price tag)Food: everything was delicious. Super fresh and tasty. The tacos were incredible, the dumplings super good as well. We had two sushi rolls that didn’t disappoint. By far my favorite dish of the night was the beef braised short ribs. They literally melt in our mouths. 10/10 on the food.Price: definitely a pricey dinner. +$250 including tip.Service: was good. A bit slow at the beginning but overall very attentive staff. Always making sure we had water on our glasses.Would go back for special occasions.

Went to ryu for the first time. Food was fresh and on point! Started with the miso soup very soothing and tasty. We then had 3 sets of maki rolls which were intact, didn’t fall apart and were fresh as can be. And ended it with the wagyu strip loin and it was wow! Growing up in an Asian household I can’t eat steak without rice and they were more than happy to serve it with a bowl lol. Thanks again! My favourite part of it was the smoked salt, never heard of it but now it’s a must. Oh and the drinks they have a great list of signatures, take your pick. The service provided by Yuri and her team was hospitable, very tentative, and overall made the experience on point. Will be coming back for sure

We went around 7:30 pm and were 6 adults 50+. The music was very loud to the point that we couldn’t hear each other. We asked the manager if she could lower the volume a little, she answered that “as you can see there are other clients at the restaurant” which I found rude. Then they moved us to the terrace at the back of the restaurant and there they forgot about us. The food was brought one plate of few pieces at the time, we had to go inside to ask for soya sauce, for napkins etc. I would not recommend this location (old port of Montréal ).

WoW what a terrific restaurant! My wife and I ate here on Valentine’s Day. This restaurant had a preset menu option which we decided to go with. I have not had sushi this good in a very long time. Every plate had a unique taste and flavour. The staff were pleasant and considering it was Valentine’s Day they were able to still offer top notch service. The restaurant is modern, trendy and great ambiance. It is super clean and they offer some great wine options.

Upscale Japanese dining spot indeed. We picked Ryu for date night. Beautiful decorations, attentive staffs. All the dishes we ordered were amazing and very fresh. It is on the pricey side, but I guess it is for high quality ingredients. Cons: music was way too loud. Another customers politely asked if the music could be turned down a bit. Nothing really changed afterwards.

I went to the Ryu in Griffintown.Absolutely lovedThe place is very nice with dark lighting.Perfect to go out with friends or even for a romantic date nightI went here for my birthday dinner with my sister. We ordered the platter of 12 piece sashimi to start, WOW the FRESHEST raw fish I've ever had .We also ordered the beef short rib, OMG the meat just melted in your mouth definitely a must!!!!!We got some signature Maki which were so good.Hands down the best a la carte sushi restaurant I've been in MTL so far.We paired everything with a bottle of champagne, it was so deliciousI cannot wait to go backIt's abitt pricey but definitely worth it because everything is so fresh and goodHostess and waiter were all so friendly, we even got 3 different flavor ice cream mochis offered to us at the end of our dinner which we did not expect and they were amazing and so lightDefinitely a MUST this place, you won't be dissapointed.

Amazing cocktails!! I tried the ryu sunset and the key lime pie and I love them both! Avocado tacos were also amazing. The service was really good - our waitress always made sure we were looked after. This restaurant is definitely more on the expensive side but definitely with trying.

This was my second time here…. This place is insane. Service is above average and the food….. is incredible. Every single bite is to die for. They were booked but the manager did everything he could to fit the 4 of us in. Can’t wait to come back

Atmosphere is just too loud with music that really has no appeal unless you want to feel like you are on March break at a trashy resort doing Vodka shots, which most people are doing. The service was extremely slow and inattentive having to tell staff at least 3 times to bring Soya and other things. The food gets an average rating but there is nothing “wow” about the sushi.Lastly, very overpriced for such a dining experience.Overall recommendation: you can do much better elsewhere in Mtl for sushi.
