Dreadfully unclear statements. It takes an accountant to figure out what you are being billed for. This unfortunately means that when they make mistakes on the billing, most people will probably not notice and just pay the balance. Like other purveyors have done for years, Rutland Waterworks really ought to break down the the quarterly charge separately from the consumption charges. I get a headache every quarter when my clients' statements from Rutland Waterworks start to arrive in the mail.

The process when you sell a property that is on Rutland Waterworks is atrocious. I see others complaining about the bill format, but it appears that the issues are broader than that. This is the second property we sold on Rutland Waterworks and the second time there were issues. The first time the issue was that the property is not metered, and the internal billing process is different from a metered property. As a result, the wrong payout amount was provided to the conveyancer. It took several phone calls to get the issue dealt with and quite a bit of back and forth with the staff.We recently sold a second property on Rutland Waterworks that was also not metered. We mentioned this to the conveyancer to make sure we didn’t have an issue again. Sure enough, once again the wrong amount was provided for the payout and Rutland Waterworks did not recognize the billing status of the property. I called the office to sort it out and had to mention several times that the property was not metered. So, silly me, now I think it is all good and I see the quarterly amount is withdrawn from my bank. This is after the sale documents have been provided and I have also called in about the sale. RWW was aware that the sale had happened. No action was taken to stop the withdrawal. So now there is an overpayment due for two issues, one -- the wrong amount provided by Rutland Waterworks on the sale and two -- the withdrawal that shouldn’t have happened.Most companies could deal with this fairly quickly and reverse the electronic transaction, but not Rutland Waterworks. They need to write a cheque and for some reason, this takes 60 days or more to issue. 60 days! And a cheque – how archaic are the systems at Rutland Waterworks? I can only imagine their response if their customers didn’t pay for 60 days. I don’t know if anyone on the board ever looks at these reviews, but it is time to get Rutland Waterworks modernized.

Same as what others are saying. I understand the complexity of the breakdown, but it really should be something sorted on their side: single account number, make payments (quarterly or consumption) and that's it. Such a confusing mess.
