The Plaza Hotel
First, the location is amazing. I’d you want to be downtown this is the place. Very close walking distance to everything and tons of great restaurants within a block away.Staff is very friendly but housekeeping came only once in our 4 night stay and only replaced towels.Parking is a bit of an issue. The main lot is very small. Maybe 15 vehicles or so. If you have a truck don’t even try. Small cars are even a tight fit. When lot is full there is overflow parking a short block away. I was nervous parking there overnight but everything was fine.Room is very small. Bathroom was VERY VERY small! Almost no room in shower to move around unless you are quite small.Fridge is awkward to access. It is in the cabinet at the foot of the bed. Cabinet door does not open all the way making it all difficult to get things in and out.

If you have the extra money, take a better hotel. Absolutlely terrible hotel and breakfast. Parking costs 12 extra CAD but is video monitored which is needed since a lot of junkies are around the hotel.The room smelled terrible, beds were as uncomfortable as you can imagine. Hotel reminded me of guest house paradiso"."

We stayed at the Plaza Feb 26th to 29th for the Scotties curling. Staff were friendly and our room was good! On the second night I was awakend by a gas smell... wasn't sure what was causing it. Opened the window. Next day I asked the front desk and was told that's the gas fireplace. Later that day I overheard staff talking about the hotel having a Gas leak!The biggest problems with the plaza are when you arrive in your ready to check in, there is nowhere to pull in and unload your luggage!!PARKING was the worst!! Next to the hotel there are about 15 spots... their overflow lot is 2 blocks away!! Not impressed with that!

I loved it here! Super cool old hotel in dt. I think I heard it used to be a strip club but was purchased and fixed up. The hotel staff are really friendly, complimentary breakfast is good bang for your buck! The only negative is their parking. It costs $9 and that’s if you’re lucky enough to get a spot. Overflow parking is 2 blocks away. I ended up just parking on the street. There are signs that say no parking from 3 am - 7 am but was told this was just for snow clearing. If there’s no snow you don’t need to worry about it. Parking my vehicle on the street for 4 nights and it was fine. Though there are some homeless people around they were harmless. Probably wouldn’t leave anything valuable in your vehicle.

I think the bad reviews for this hotel are from people expecting free stuff for minor things. This hotel was absolutely lovely and close to everything. Everything is within walking distance. Lots of resturaunts and lounges nearby. Staff was pleasant room was cute. Could use a deep clean but that's just me being ocd. Great stay, great hotel overall. I wish they had some kind of return guest discount or loyalty because we will return 100%

The coolest hotel!! Just a tip anyone traveling make sure you go in and register for parking it's 10.00 cheaper. I went inside hotel and inquired on parking I was told to go park in the parking lot but no one told me anything about the parking rates until I returned so that was very sad because two of us did that. Would have been nice to save the 20.00, The front counter just brushed it off as a oops, he had been asked about parking and could have told us before and then been a bit less condescending when we pointed this out. But the room was super cool and the bar downstairs was nice and the bartender was wonderful. So great little hotel poor front counter experience. But if you want to check out a old elevator definitely a place to check out.

We stayed for one night on our trip to Banff from Vancouver. A cheap dated hotel with a pretty average breakfast. The service at reception was excellent though and the two ladies were really engaging and helpful. Room was clean but pretty basic.

The Plaza Hotel
The room is good and the staff are nice but there was no available parking after we had already paid and we could hear the night club downstairs clear as day to the point it seemed like the club was in our room. The loud music and partying lasted until 2 am in the club and continued continued for another hour on the street. I wouldn’t recommend this location unless you plan on staying up until at least 3 am.

This is a quaint, well-maintained hotel. The queen room was small but clean. Great customer service from all of their staff. Breakfast was good, but one of their toasters was broken, so there was a wait when it's busy. There is a microwave in the lobby, if you want to eat in. Walking distance to the hospital, the beach park, groceries, shops, restaurants. They booked an airport shuttle for me, which was very convenient and efficient than a cab. This is right in downtown, expect some typical noise on weekend nights, and some homeless people in the vicinity, (like in most cities these days), but I felt safe walking around.
