The lady on the phone was very rude. Short answers and kept talking over me when I tried to ask a question. I was just trying to ask if the bin would be picked up today. She would repeat its on the board". Well I don't know if that means it will be picked up today or tomorrow. I just want to make sure I have the bin cleared and ready.Told her she was being rude and she definitely claimed not to be. Asked for the bin to be emptied and dropped back off but we will see what happens based on the interaction on the phone.I've never had issues with Alpine or this new company

Quite horrified at the customer service (or lack thereof) and inability of the staff to do their jobs and communicate proper instructions. I spent 20 minutes sorting my cans, bottles, etc. covered in wasps in the parking lot and was not informed that I had to count each bin even though the staff told me to sort them. Every other bottle depot I’ve ever been to has sorted and counted my bottles for me. The staff should have been about 10x more pleasant to interact with too.

This company is the worst they are some of the most useless people around. When you guys make a mess collecting trash how about cleaning up after yourself. That would be great instead of me having to pay a homeless person to come in and clean up your mess because your staff are to lazy to do their jobs. I get it that one of your staff also paid the homeless guy a massive $5 for his two hours of labour. Your company is a sad joke. Do better next time.

Not sure why but they don't do full deposit amounts. I didn't realize until I'd already unloaded. Cash-back machine was also out of order so I'll have to go back to get the cash. Disappointing. The other locations are less convenient but worth the drive.Update: came back, as I was told to, in order to get my cash and no supervisors were available" and I was told to come back Monday to Friday. So basically good luck getting cash out of this place. It's brutal and I feel for the kids working here because it's not their fault but they'll take the brunt of it."

These folks are great. It's always really busy, so be prepared to wait a bit, but the staff will move you through quickly. Sensible layout and well run.

This is not the place to drop of concrete. Most places it is free or a minimal charge to drop off concrete but here they charge you full rate for garbage. I was quoted a minimal rate over the phone as I suppose they have a different facility that can take concrete and recycle it properly. I had about 350 pounds of concrete and after I dropped it off they wanted $85. I was able to have it reduced by $50 by explaining I was quoted a different rate over the phone. Still way more than if I had dropped it elsewhere. At least have some level of customer satisfaction (thus the 2 stars). Another interesting thing was they told me to throw the concrete in with what looked like random garbage saying they were going to sort it later. I don't see how that is possible.

Called in because they missed our pickup for our recyclables. CSR kept saying we're on a 2 week cycle, we're on a 2 week cycle. Questioned me if I'm sure they didn't pick up last week. She was not friendly or helpful at any point in our conversation. She eventually took my name and number, which she should already have on the account. We'll see if they follow up.Update:I ended up messaging one of their contacts I had and he sent someone to pick up our recyclables. Said a new driver got the wrong place last time. He's always been great so I've updated my ratings from 1 star to 3 stars. If customer service was better I'd give a higher rating

Appalling experience.Setting up the account - no problem. Some of the collections were missed, but not a huge deal. Even when they said they would send a truck to swing back and collect the missed bins, the truck never arrived. I didn't have a lot of garbage so this wasn't a big deal to me.Trying to cancel and receive a refund is where the problems begin. I cancelled my pick ups at the beginning of November - service period was until end of December. I dropped off my bins and had no other dealings w Alpine other than waiting for my refund cheque which they said would arrive by mail. I waited until January to inquire after the refund as it had not arrived yet. The Langford office had no information. For 8 months, I had to continue to return to the office to inquire after the refund. The office said that Alpine had been purchased by GFL Environmental and so they were transitioning the accounts. I had to chance down the office in Toronto who couldn't access the Alpine accounts and Alpine was saying the finance dept responsible for refunds was located in Toronto. Finally, after being quoted several different refund amounts and still not receiving the full amount, the lady in the Langford office just gave me petty cash which was not to the quoted amount. I was glad to be done with it, so I away I went.To add insult to injury, later that day after thinking I finalized my Alpine encounter, I received a bill for an INTEREST charge on my account. My garbage pick up was PREPAID and my bins were returned before they needed to be so I have no idea where I could possibly have incurred an interest charge. Just brutal.Alpine is not the first company to have been bought out. The completion of my dealings with Alpine was pathetic. After 8 months of constant checkins and follow ups, they still had no idea about my refund and instead of receiving the refund, I received an interest charge.

Automatically renewed my contract without any notifications. Money grab company. Never signed up with them but they bought Smithrite. Terrible service. Dissapointed that I was automatically renewed. They wouldn’t even cancel it. Just a way to force people to stay in business with them. Don’t use their service. Also increase their prices without letting me know.
