168 sushi is my favorite sushi’s restaurant by far. Food always good. Service is quick!! Never full house but always steady.

At first we were in sticker shock..the dinner was 35$. Yes it was all you can eat and after tasting the food yes its worth it. The food and service at first was amazing.This is a hidden gem for sure BUT beware...In the end we found out there was no debit, we also found out that you have to pay more money on top of the 35$ if you have leftovers weather or not you take it home. For example we had a small amount left over...a couple piece of 4 dishes maximum. The server wanted to charge us 15$ or to each as much as we can. We stated we were full and stated we werent happy with this charge that we weren't notified.We stated she should have told us when walking in and being seated.The server then proceeded to tell us that they do this to prevent waste and that they don't tell people when they first walk in.Also, the server stated that all we can do is eat as much as we can even through we stated we were full.Then she became a not so nice server. I get it. We told her we weren't happy with this this situation.In the end I'd go again but being very mindful of having to pay for leftovers.

This is my usual go to sushi place. It’s in a decent location with ample parking and lots of seating inside. There’s decent amount of options and the food comes out pretty quickly. I wish they would be more diligent with water refills though. But the sushi is fairly fresh as is the veggies (avocado, cucumber etc). Sometimes I find if I order something with a sauce, the second time I order it, it tastes completely different.

I went to this restaurant for supper, but many of the things I ordered never arrived, and the atmosphere was unwelcoming. The cuisine was also poor; the chicken tasted like a chicken burger that had been compressed and had lemon juice added; I will never return. Please save your time money and stomach do not go here. They also limit portions what kinda buffet is this?

The place is definitely a hole in the wall. You will need to go the back of the building to enter the actual dining area. Food comes almost instantly as soon as you order. Desserts tasted good, the sushi was good nothing too special but good if you’re jut trying to fill your sushi craving. The questions when we first came in were odd such as, “all are eating all you can eat?”, “no kids?”, and asking if “$32” was okay. Overall a positive experience.

The food is truly terrible and unappetizing. None of the menu items were prepared properly.Our unagi came without bbq eel sauce and when was asked for sauce, they added on this cold, lumpy sauce on top (pictured). The sushi was falling apart, not rolled tightly enough, the salmon was not fresh and the avocados used were not remotely ripe at all. The chicken teriyaki was just chicken - no teriyaki. Super dry and unappetizing as seen in the photo.I was appalled at how poorly all the menu items were made. I’m not sure if this is a management issue because it seems like they didn’t properly train their chefs. To top it off, the servers would bring us food and just stand at the end of the table watching us eat which was extremely uncomfortable.-10/10 would never return, waste of money

TLDR: I suggest eating somewhere else.We came here with a friend who enjoyed 168 Sushi on Merivale in the past.Parking lot is in the back.The place was almost empty on a Saturday night at supper time. We should have taken the hint.Service was weird and awkward, and not in a good way.Bathroom was clean.Food was edible. Not much better. Beef and chicken was probably precooked and sitting in the fridge a long time, it was tough. Sushi may as well have been bought from the grocery store.I will not be returning.

Most of the sushi we tried was amazing!! Our server struggled with english and wasn't the nicest. Our mango chicken never arrived however. I also wish they had green tea, or any kind of tea on the menu. and more dessert options would be nice.

We were served warm sushi with cold avocado, the seaweed had an old and stale taste. The rice tasted like plastic, and the wasabi was sweet. The only good thing was the crab tempura. There are much better all you can eat sushi places in Ottawa, I recommend avoiding this one
