I used Forest View for the first time this year as my supplier of doors, trim and casing on a custom build. The service, products and pricing were great, 5 stars!

I originally gave Forestview 4 stars a few months back. I have changed my rating to 1 star because...After several visits to the show room... and the owner Mark and his associate coming a few times to the site for measurements and take offs I decided to placed the order. The price was negotiated and agreed upon. I decided to prepay the deposit and full amount in advance of delivery. The owner would not accept a business cheque unless it was certified. Understandable if I was accepting delivery prior to the check clearing funds. I thought it was a misunderstanding so I explained to the owner Mark not to deliver the order untill the cheque cleared. He still would not accept the cheque for some reason as he said I could cancel the check after it cleared his account? Which is impossible and does not make any sense and insulting. The order was all in stock items and nothing custom etc. There was no risk to Forestview. Unfortunately Mark is difficult to work with and doesn't seem to care about fostering customer service and building relationships with builders. If he is not willing to accept payment in full and cleared funds than I dont see any chance of his company providing service for his products. I cancelled my order and ordered from Victoria Strong and actually ended up with custom sized doors pre primed, better quality and saved some money. This strange experience makes no sense from my perspective and Forestview lost out on several new orders upcoming. Funds cleared before delivery and you dont want our business? Very bizarre.
