Edit: Penny's now 3 1/2 and she still loves her daily walks with the Release the hounds team!Original Review:We've had Release the Hounds as our dog walking company since our dog was 4 months old, she's now almost two and have been very pleased with their services.Our dog always comes home happy and tired from her fun filled walks! Their communication is great and James always goes above and beyond to ensure we're happy.We've used Release the Hounds for overnight boarding service and were very comforted to know that our dog was in a home with someone she knows for the weekend.Price, quality/length of walks and service are all great.

So happy with this service!My little buddy, Hudson, is a rescue, and can be a bit nervous around meeting new people. I have also never used a walking service before, so I was a bit apprehensive. I work unusual hours and can sometimes be away from the house with him all alone for 8-10 hours. So I decided to give Release the Hounds a try.Maryam came to meet Hudson before the first walk and instantly made him comfortable. Such a relief! She is so good with him and he LOVES her! The best part is I get daily updates of pictures on their walks. Honestly, this puts me at so much ease knowing he is getting out and having fun. She totally gets that I am more stressed out about him being home all day than he is.Now when I come home he is excited to see me and doesn't bolt for the back yard to get outside. I wish I had started working with RTH sooner!!JJ

I've had many bad experience with this company. Under previous ownership they couldn't seem to figure out how to charge me for the walks we were getting. I tried calling and emailing but no one returned my messages. When they finally started charging me it was random and all over the place - so hard to keep up with the charges and if they were accurate. I was hopeful that this would change under current ownership but it still wasn't consistent. When I asked for my invoices to include the dates of the walks so that I could ensure accuracy I was told this is not something they do (odd, most invoices tell you exactly what you're paying for).Again under previous ownership my dog was not picked up for one of her walks. That's fine, mistakes happen, but I needed some sort of assurance she was being walked when she was scheduled so I requested some sort of proof: photos, an instagram account, a Strava account. These requests were largely ignored by the new owners/administration. Again, odd, other dog walkers are happy to provide photos, etc.Communicating with this company is tough. They're not quick to reply to email and rarely answer the phone.On my dog's second-to-last walk with this company she sustained a deep wound to her paw. The dog walker didn't notice the wound which is strange because when I got home from work there was blood in my apartment and she required surgery. I asked the company what happened and they said they'd look into it and get back to me - which they didn't do until I emailed again two weeks later. They said the dog walkers check the dogs over after each walk - obviously not the case based on my dog's injury. By this point I had totally lost confidence in the company and asked them to drop of my key and cease services.I was at work one day and got a text from the new dog walker asking where the dog was...she wasn't at home for her scheduled walk. Even after asking Release the Hounds to NOT walk her any more they were not organized enough to take her off the schedule and she got picked up for a two-hour off-leash walk. This was during the period that she was injured and not supposed to be exercising. When she came home her paw wound had re-opened.Overall this was a ridiculous experience and I wouldn't recommend Release the Hounds to anyone.

I have used Release the Hounds for my black lab Souris for 4 years. We had needed a replacement for our previous service and this outfit came with great references. We have been very happy with their service, we have used them for dog walking, dog boarding and house/pet sitting. The dog walkers are all fantastic, they clearly love dogs and they take very good care of our active pup. She has an unfortunate habit of eating inappropriate things and they have been diligently working with me to curb it. When we moved, we were able to continue with their service. I never worry when she is with them and she is always very happy when they arrive to take her for her walk. Best of all, Souris is tired and happy when she comes back!

Virgil is so happy when his hiking buddy, Alison, arrives. He comes back relaxed, tired and dirty having just had a romp through the woods with his friends. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the service and highly recommend them,

I am always so happy with the care that my dog Parker receives from Release the Hounds while I am away! I can't even express how grateful I am. My dog is senior and does not get along with other dogs. So when I go away, she can't be boarded with ground or at kennels. She needs to be taken care of by an experienced handler who knows dogs well and can handle her quirks". I am so grateful that Release the Hounds offers this service! There are lots of dog walkers and kennels

Zero friggan stars!!!Scam! Crooks! Stay away!We purchased a package in December for our dog to be walked while we were on vacation. The package was $420.75. The package includes 5 walks for one hour long. The reasoning for the price was due to last minute scheduling , originally the package would be good for 10 walks instead we were told 5 due to last minute and “technical closed for the holidays “. Our dog was walked once for a total of two blocks.We just scheduled walks but I cannot help and think what if we needed him fed with water?If we didn’t have friends to help out our dog would have died in their care.Let that sink in. Our dog would have died in their care.We canceled the service immediately after the botched one walk and was told we would get a refund, but we would have to still pay for the pathetic dog walk.The next day we received an email that our dog was walked. They couldn’t even communicate with their team to cancel their poor services . It is now one month past my purchase date and no one from the company will pick up the phone.* update *I received a text message regarding a refund would be issued. I confirm, I received a refund and a deduction of only one walk.

I recently had an experience with Release the Hounds that left me feeling disappointed. Despite many attempts to reach them by phone over the course of a week, I was unable to get through. When I finally reached them by email and requested a call back, I did not receive one. Instead, I received a careless email that did not acknowledge my efforts to reach them or my displeasure at not being able to reach them about an issue with my dog. Overall, it took nearly two weeks to get a simple schedule change when it should have taken one phone call. I would highly recommend not using Release the Hounds for any reason as they do not care about your business and have no interest in providing quality customer service.

My dog Cooper LOVES his hikes with Release the Hounds! Meghan does a wonderful job picking him up from our apartment and taking him on wonderful adventures with his friends, he comes back tired and happy!Thanks for the walks!

I’m giving 2 stars as I’ve actually not used them, but the initial experience with them was horrible.I made an appointment online on their website to have a call to discuss my needs, and they did not call. I called them and they had no idea what I was talking about.I asked if I could do a one time first try (paid) and was told No and I had to by a package of 10The overall vibe from the phone call was as if I was trying to order pizza. Definitely not a place I would put my dogs in the care of.
