Such sweet folks. They run the little thrift store next door and it was very well organized and super prices! Great place to be involved.

THIS thrift store is NOT operated by a Christian Soul at all. Linda is a bully, condescending to new comers to Radium and treats them as outsiders of the community. I lived in Creston for 3 years before moving here to Radium in March 2023. We had most of our belongings in storage in Creston while we lived in temporary accommodation in Radium waiting for our condo here to be prepared for us to live in it. Because the weather here was warmer than Creston, I needed lighter clothes, some kitchen and household stuff that the VRBO just did not have. Also, before our grandchildren came for an Easter visit, I wanted to get themgifts for the hot springs and warmer weather we were having as opposed to Alberta at the time. On every occasion of entering Linda’s thrift store she would expect me to leave my handbag at the door, and if it wasn’t too hot I had my support dog with me in a backpack because I have a brain injury with chronic pain syndrome and fibromyalgia. Some days I can’t walk, but the excitement to get out of the house on good days while now living Radium, this was a go to place. What a nightmare of utter disrespect and embarrassment in front of other patrons to would vocalize at me. She would tell me to leave because I had my tiny little dog in my backpack on my back or because I didn’t want to leave my $200 handbag made from army fatigues in honour of my Father’s passing after walking all the way from Prospector Avenue. I would hear Linda tell other patrons they could use the change room, but when I had asked earlier, she said none existed. When I first came to Radium and started frequenting the thrift store, I offered Linda help as a volunteer because I could see stacks of clothes needing to be unpacked, but that was taken as an offence to her. In my time in Creston, all the warm loving Ladies from the Jehovah Witness congregation, the Trinity Church, the Tuck Shop, Gleaners ALL became loving friends during our three years there, and we would get together for tea no matter the faith based belief background. I was certainly never treated as a criminal, and in fact, if you didn’t have enough coin at one of their charity shops, you were allowed to pay them on the next visit. I would always come back with extra coin and donations. When we lived on Prospector our neighbours asked us where do we go for our secondhand thrifting, I said “well I have been trying here at Blessings, and their response was “Linda is an unkind nut job, go to Moe in Invermere, he’s a real kind hearted person who won’t abuse you”. I was stunned because I knew I had started to experience a very uncomfortable unwelcome from Linda, but thought maybe she’s just having a bad day. Then when she threatened me to never enter the store again unless I leave my dog at home and my handbag at the door. In Creston, all thrift shops had treats waiting for my dear pup and both men, women and children couldn’t wait to pet her. This Thrift Store is based on “Christianity”, but it seems everything is run by a couple who are collecting all our good hearted donations for coin and goods. Where’s it going back into the community?
