Under The High Wheel
The first time i came, i thought it was a bit plain and ordinary. The second time, i tried something else, and it was better. Then... I STUMBLED ON THE SWEET BELGIUM WAFFLES! I've since ordered these many times once a week at least for a few years. They are incredible! The perfect balance of flavors. Freshest organic fruit, real maple, real vanilla infused cream, and an amazing waffle texture... I ate so many of these waffles, i didn't discover the BELT sandwich with herb mayo for so long and it's amazing too! Then i realized, if i work through the whole menu again, it is truly a cut above. Everything is organic and top quality. There's not an excessive amount of salt, you can actually taste the potatoes! The ingredients stand on their own. There's a kind of boldness by choosing to not over season the dishes. There's nothing plain or ordinary about that. Wholesome delicious food is so rare, i mistook it for plain but it is the rarest of places. I love it.

This has been a long standing spot for brunch on Whyte Avenue east of the tracks. It used to be lined up out the door. But with so many other options, it's becoming easier to get a table in short order here.The food is great. The menu has held up to the test of time with a good subset of options that are favorites. The service was wonderful...so friendly. The vibe is energetic. The only complaint is that the sliding auto doors outside of Blush Lane bring in so much cold air if you're sitting by the entrance. Maybe leave the restaurant doors themselves closed even though it may be an inconvenience.

We walked in out of the Rain on a long weekend Monday after a few other places on out list were not open.It was buzzing inside with lots of tables. We were seated right away and our server was great considering the amount of people inside ordering around the same time. Food was quickly brought to our table and was both beautiful and delicious.We stopped in for the Brunch Menu.We ordered Bangers and Mash - Subbed in vegan sausage.& a traditional breakfast. Under the toast was a great selection of berries to go with it.We also both had a London Fog as beverage, which was frothy and absolutely delicious!

I visited the cafe with a friend on a Monday for brunch. The menu was extensive in terms of the types of food offered along with the vegetarian/vegan switches to the menu. The atmosphere of the cafe was really good and facilitated conversation. We were also able to make really good conversation with the staff as well.

Good Food, Limited Options.The quality of the food was excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed the dishes I ordered.However, the disappointment arose when I discovered that several items on the menu were unavailable. It would have been beneficial if the restaurant had marked those items or informed us beforehand. The absence of these options limited our choices and left us feeling a bit let down.In terms of ambiance, the brunch place had a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The decor was charming, and the seating arrangements were comfortable. It provided a pleasant environment for a leisurely brunch.

Excellent experience at Under the High Wheel. Food was all localaly sourced and portion sizes are great. I would recommend the Bangers and Mash or the BELT. Our server Trevor provided top tier customer service. Would definitely recommend anyone looking for a brunch place to check it out!

Absolutely wonderful place to come for brunch! So uniquely vibing in the summertime when they open the patio. Delicious fluffy big waffles smoked salmon Benedict, fresh feta cheese. Delicious chicken sausages otherwise known as bangers. This brunch place is also dog friendly when the patio is open.
