Just wanted to put it out there that I am kind of disappointed in the A.N.N.A shelter. I have had awesome experience in the past. I have adopted a dog, a cat, even a rabbit from there. However, back in November we adopted 3 Guinea pigs from there. We were told that they were all males and 2 years old. The one did not look that old. We have had Guinea pigs before and always started off at a younger age. Two may have been but not the one. Then over a couple of weeks the one started getting aggressive with the others. So we had to separate them. Now for the straw that finally broke the camel's back. Yesterday we came home and found out that the one was not even a male at all. She had 2 babies. Needless to say I am very unhappy. We have tried several times to contact and take a couple back to the shelter and it has got us no where. They want us to have a cage. Cages are expensive and to buy a cage just to give it away is ridiculous.

They're doing the best they can. If you're visiting make sure you're going to the correct location. Please make sure you get to hold the pet you're adopting before you adopt it... Feel for lumps and bumps and just to see maybe how friendly they are. If you're going to the main shelter it's always insane and that's mostly a good thing lots of people there to adopt. We just adopted a wonderful cat from there. Make sure you get all the information about the animal that chooses you! ❤️ Our baby has a heart murmur and cancer and we love her dearly but it just would have been good to know that beforehand to be prepared.

This shelter was very busy and most of all while the dogs were barking they were not miserable. The shelter we went to previously was awful. The animals were angry , sad and depressed so Anna Shelter was a blessing. We would highly recommend them. We love Marshal!

For those of you who are disappointed…. People make mistakes. Roll with it….. more lives = more love if done properly! So you if you have a positive suggestion or input to reduce human error… by all means … but until you have been in the staffs’ shoes….. stop complaining g… if you want a change…. It’s up to you ! Volunteer two days a week cleaning dog cages and litter boxes…. Doing laundry feeding and watering. You people that get nowhere. …… well look in the mirror….. I have adopted all of pets from irresponsible people just like you, Yeah….I know because I made it look easy….. and so does the Anna Shelter….. you don’t see the blood. Sweat and tears that goes into every pet rescued or adopted. When you have empathy … true empathy…. You will learn true compassion for living creatures….. until then. Read a book on how to nature and care for pets of your desire. Knowledge is power and had you known more about the animal you were adopting… well you obvious lied about your hands-on experience or issues would not become a crisis! You are to blame. Look in the mirror….people who don’t know how to care for pets end up having aggressive or ill-mannered pets….. so I stead of trusting but verifying….. you took the shelter sword as gospel. Come on! You have only your own selfish ignorance to blame. Look in the mirror! And especially these days…… males are females and visa versa…… read people.! If you’re going to have animals youve got to learn about commitment and hard work. If you can’t handle what God gives you and treat it like a blessing….. well I feel very sorry for you!

Visited shelter dogs and staff this afternoon . Haven’t been down there since my late partner passed . It is wheelchair Accesible and a good environment for the dogs in residence , people often ask when will I get a new service dog the answer is never … my partner was amazing more than I could have asked for ,I might eventually adopt one but not a service dog . My partner is in an urn on the mantle till I die and we once again become a team . I am still trying to be the human my partner believes I am .

Just a wonderful facility. They take in so many animals it's amazing. The staff is very caring, the animals are happy and well cared for. If the Shelter doesn't provide a service, they know who does. Top notch vets. Their nearby wellness center is very competent I am considering using them for our latest rescue. Adoption is painless, you can print out an online adoption application, or fill one out there. They take donations of everything an animal may need.

So many dogs looking for forever homes. We looked but were not ready. Also found a stray near my home and brought him in. He is a mature beagle. So sweet. They took him right away to be checked out and cared for

We adopted the love of our lives from the Anna shelter. Everyone there was amazing, friendly and helpful.Abacus had some minor issues after adoption (mostly anxiety) but their staff took our calls and helped as much as possible as well as had their associated vet call us with guidance. We plan on always including the Anna shelter in our lives (attending their events and fundraisers)!
