Amazing experience, the restaurant is lovely decorated with a very rustic environment, plus it has a beautiful view next to the Chateauguay River. The food was something I did not expect, really tasty, with fresh and local produce, very flavoury. We asked for several changes and they perfectly accommodated all our dishes to our requests. We tried a drink that we got recommended which was very fresh and savory. The service is also a 5 star, really the best we have had in long time. Kudos to all the staff.

We love coming back to this place whenever we can. In summer we often sit on the terrace for an hour or two with cocktails playing games before ordering. The covered terrace faces the river with a nice view in the afternoon sun.The warm and friendly staff are very accommodating and willing to help with menu suggestions and wine pairing both to your meal and your palate.Their bar selection and in-house created cocktails with local ingredients are exceptional and generous. The wine selection includes biodynamic, organic and some privately imported bottles suited to every budget. The inspiring menu, often with weekly specials, is an innovation in local cuisine. Drawing proudly from regional producers, it regularly features items like Wagyu beef, Mangalista Hungarian pork and a cornucopia of delights from Quebec's pantry.Any occasion is worth visiting this monument to flavor.

On a rare occasion do I have time to write a review, but would love to share my experience. It was a beautiful afternoon in Ormstown, and we were feeling thirsty. We settled at the Taverne for a refreshment and clearly, we spent the whole afternoon. We were warmly received by the owner herself who was working the bar. We decided that as it was a quick visit, we would sit at the bar and then make our way. We ended up spending most of the afternoon and early evening engaging in conversation and laughing, and of course, the cocktails were flowing. I was very impressed by the professionalism of the staff on duty and the flow of service. My only regret, was we didn't stay for a meal. We are looking forward to coming back again and eating, drinking and being merry. What a pleasure it is to be in such an environment. Thank you to Summer and Gavin who made us feel so welcomed.

Super yummy food here. It’s a bit of a diamond in the ruff. I was pleasantly surprised to find great vegetarian options on the menu and amazing service to be had. The menu isn’t extensive which is okay. It’s nice that everything is so fresh. Also, they really know their gin’s and serve it with the best tonic out there, fever tree. Really great place to go. ** we were two f/f couples and had no issue whatsoever so I would definitely rate this a very LGBTQ positive location**

We couldn’t understand our waitress. Her English explanation of the menu was limited. So that was kind of awkward for both her and us. She did not try to keep her distance ( w/COVID) making us a bit uncomfortable. The couple who came in after us received their meal before we did.We ordered sweet potato fries to start which were light and crispy served with a tasty dip.I ordered pasta of the day which was shrimp and local organic veggies with cream sauce. Unfortunately, it was quite bland. I asked for salt and pepper which came only in time for my last bite.My husband ordered the vegan General Tao which was wonderful - well cooked, full of flavour and lots of veggies. The food portions were small and a glass of wine was very small - Less then half of a small wine glass for 12.00!The ambiance is relaxed and friendly. The location on the riverside is beautiful. It seems to be a popular spot. There’s an outdoor terrace - but it shares space with the parking lot.Overall, I expected better value for the price.

A blessing in a culinary void. There are okay restaurants in the area but Taverne really stads out to me as the best place to treat your taste buds. A solid meal, well plated, and with a diverse choice of taste palettes.Great principles and sides.Very diverse drink menu, highlighting local talents.Convenient location, great parking, great food! Not to be missed when you are in the area. There is one other bonus: the view! When you're sitting by the window you have the view of the Chateauguay river flowing by. Usually festooned with wildlife.

The food all comes from local farms, so it's fresh. The atmosphere was great, Dim lighting and live country/blues music when we were there. Although the drink menus were in French, between us and the bartender, we were able to figure it out enough to order. The food was delicious and the drinks were good as well. My only complaint would be the price... It was almost $10 for three (small) Mac an cheese balls. Other than that, no complaints!
