UGM Medical Clinic

This is my own personal experience: (if I could give -1 star I would)I decided to switch to this clinic because I thought as a female doctor and Nigerian she would better understand me and attend to my needs. I had a male (who couldn’t even read scans properly) doctor before and my medical issues were not taken seriously because they were issues only a woman could understand.and I didn’t a 100% fault him for that so I decided to switch to UGM and spoke to doctor Stella. I explained my past experiences with the other doctor and the kind of experience I need from her. She seemed like she understood and I was glad. Moving forward the experience became worse. (Granted I understand she has other patients she speaks with). It would take forever to speak with her. After ever test I was ordered to do, she would never call to discuss the test as I would have to call her and set up an appointment which would take a long time. She never spoke like she was sure of what she was saying, I felt like I had to take charge as ask questions (that she was supposed to ask) so I can get proper answers. She was sluggish in speaking why really irritated me.The thing is if she couldn’t provide the help I expected or wasn’t versed in that field she should have referred me instead of wasting my time and getting me more irritated. Atleast refer me to a doctor that specializes in what I need help for. Both doctors , previous and her, are from the same country and so am I and I thought that would be helpful to me but they have both been utterly useless and irritating. I am currently looking for a new doctor.

Dr. Stella treats me like an actual human being, it's quite refreshing. She's kind, knowledgeable, down to earth, and takes the time to listen to your issues. She doesn't rush you at all. I left a previous family doctor to switch here and I couldn't be happier.

I have just been referred by needaDoc after being without a Doctor for 3 years. I have severe mental illness and many health problems which cause me to move very slowly. The receptionist, nurse and Dr. Stella have all been very patient with me. So far so good. They are very kind and attentive.Update: Just had my first appointment and I loved it, but you need to know I hate going to the Dr.'s. Dr. Stella and staff are so kind and thorough. I have recently switched Family Doctors and I am extremely impressed with Dr. Fola Olajide and her front desk staff. Dr Olajide is very thorough and ensures you are up to date with all of your medical needs. She and her front desk staff are very pleasant and professional. I am very pleased with my decision to come here.

After years of being unhappy at our previous clinic we searched far and wide for a Doctor willing to take the time to see our children when they were ill. We needed a Doctor who could schedule them in, see them in person, listen and care for our family.We found that Doctor with Dr. Stella!She came highly recommended to us, and we now know why. This is the first time in decades we are heard and feel cared for.Reception is very polite and happy to answer any questions, quick to return calls and very patient with my little ones. Anytime I call, I am cared for!Excellent service!Thank you!

Had my first appt for me and my son there recently and they were wonderful! The receptionist and nurse were very friendly and my appointment with dr. Olajide was amazing! She was patient, thorough and heard what I had to say. Glad I was referred to her by a friend and I have since referred her to the people I know! Best patient /doctor experience I had in my life.

After looking for a family doctor for what feels like forever, I finally found Dr. Stella… I had my first appointment with her today and let me say, I am so happy I found her!! She is so kind and listens to your every concern! I felt so comfortable talking to her, feels like I am chatting with a friend. All the ladies in the office were all super friendly! I am so happy I found this practice!Don’t hesitate to call them as I think they are still accepting new patients!

The 5 star rating is for Dr. Fola who is an amazing physician with a calm and relatable demeanour. She is caring and very helpful and we feel lucky to have found her after our wonderful family doctor retired unexpectedly. The actual layout of the clinic needs improvement as it has a temporary or makeshift vibe. I didn’t really like the seating area or where your blood pressure and weight is taken (not private). That said, I highly recommend Dr. Fola.

Went in for my first appointment today with Dr. Olajide, she is a phenomenal doctor. She is funny, caring and makes you feel super comfortable. The other staff at UGM is awesome as well, the receptionist remembers who you are and everything is super quick and efficient. I’m very happy to know she will be my family doctor and that this will be my doctors office from now on.

After moving cities I needed a new doctor. I was nervous to have to start over fresh with someone new, as I was with my previous doctor for over a decade. I read good reviews for UGM Medical Clinic and was surprised to quickly find a female doctor accepting patients.The waitlist was not very long, and soon I had an intake call with Dr. Olajide. I had read that she was very attentive and understanding, but it was hard to gauge that from our first phone call. However I recently had my first in-person appointment with her, and I'm so pleased! My last doctor had so many patients, which meant I was always late to get in and rushed to get out.While I understood Dr. Olajide had other appointments, our short time together didn't feel rushed and she truly was attentive to everything I had to say, and worked with me rather than speaking at me. She made me feel very comfortable, and I look forward to the future of my health while it's in her hands :-)Also, the front desk staff were very pleasant. I see that brought up in poorly reviewed medical clinics, but they were just as friendly and patient as Dr. Olajide!
