Such a good experience. Felt like we were VIP. This place is hidden in a restaurant that’s hidden in the ice cream shop. Really liked the ambiance and the selection of drinks was great. The place was full and felt like home. I recommend when you’re passing by the old port. Need to go there at least once in your life.

Really beautiful bar, excellent cocktails, formidable mezcal selection. However they do use a lot of scent or incense and my wife who has asthma was pretty badly affected by it. We managed to stay for a couple drinks and it seemed like it would be all right at first but it ended up irritating her lungs quite a lot and she couldn't stop coughing all the way home. I'm surprised at management's decision to use scent like this as plenty of people - even non asthmatics - are also sensitive to scents; I can't imagine this is that rare of an experience. It's a shame, we would have liked to come back here but I don't think we can or will.I will also mention that as we were leaving a managerial fella (or owner? dunno) stopped us in the stairwell out of concern and asked if my wife was all right. He was quite apologetic about it and we appreciated his sympathy. That was nice, but all the same, nicer thing would be to use a lot less scent.

Came here on a Saturday night and this place was a vibe! Cozy, dimly lit, with a sexy ambiance. Beautiful decor, live DJ playing deep house, and a delicious menu of tequila and mezcal based cocktails. This hidden bar is barely visible from the street. Coat check and host made us feel right at home. Such a memorable night in Old Town Montreal!

This speakeasy-style bar is both great and bad at the same time.Starting off with the positive:The decor and music were great and our drinks were absolutely delicious. Once downstairs, the bartenders and waiters are amazing, funny and very sweet. The ambiance was nice and the seating was beyond comfortableThe negative side of our experience:Before going into the bar, there is a mandatory coat check with a very large bouncer who is in front of the counter and a seemingly high coat check lady who insists heavily on tip-based service. It was an odd, uncomfortable experience for two younger ladies such as my friend and I. Then, once downstairs, it was very difficult looking at the decor or even the menu, as it was way too dark in the place. We had to use our phone flashlights to be able to read the menu and this is the first bar I have been to that does not give you water.We would not come back here again, but we definitely do not regret our experience at Clandestino.

Very nice place, cocktails good, service was great only downside the music is way too loud to have good conversations.Bring your friend/date if you want clubbing in a cool spot

Dark and mysterious vibe, the top floor also has a bar which plays house music - but not every night. Located in old port, the bar matches the elegance of its surroundings perfectly.

Super intimate and special experience. Hand crafted mezcal and tequila cocktails were out of this world! All their flavors shined through. Dark speakeasy with flora coating the ceiling, plants and antiques decorating the walls and corners, and comfy n fancy Victorian furniture to sit upon. Helpful and attentive staff (one man running the bar when we were there). Beautiful drinks!

All the 5 stars reviews are spot on ! I would say the “entrance “ to the lounge is all worth it. Spoiler alert do not rely on the view from the street the place wear it’s name perfectly!
