We had a great time! We saw a big group of orcas, humpback whale, sea otters, harbor seals and bald eagles. Awesome explanation about the behavior of all of them by the tour guide.

Absolute 5 star operation! These are the best guides in the whole North shore (and beyond). Very knowledgeable and seem to have a 6th sense as to where the best sightings will be. Fantastic day!

Our trips with Janine and Nate were the best whale watching trips we have ever been on. They were, in fact, so amazing, that we ended up booking several additional tours with them. They are both truly passionate about wildlife and went out of their way to explain the beautiful surroundings and its inhabitants to us. Who knew a minke’s breath smelled terrible?! We saw an abundance of wildlife on each trip (otters, transient and resident orcas, humpbacks, minke whales, dolphins, porpoises, sealions, seals, eagles, and many cool seabirds) and learned so much. Thank you! We can’t wait to come back again this year!

Ten years ago I sailed with Seasmoke on their sailboat so they seemed like the logical choice on this trip. We spent Aug 10th on the water, this time not on a sailboat but the experience almost as favorable. They picked us up at Alder Bay. I was nervous as they suggest wearing their warm/waterproof flotation suits. Being a larger woman I feared it wouldn’t fit and I would miss out on the trip and my love of whales. (You can wear a life jacket as well). My fear was for naught as the suit fit and provided warmth from the wind even though it was +15 and sunny that day. Our tour guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. 8 guests in total. Our tour-guide found us 2 humpback whales, eagles, other birds, seals, and of course orcas (see pictures below still on my camera). This company follows the rules of the setback distance and truly cares for the wildlife in this area which I truly appreciated. We were still able to see the whales, see some amazing places and with my camera I was able to get some truly fantastic pictures. I can’t wait to get home and get them printed. I definitely recommend this company.

What joy it brings me to see nature in its awesome beauty. With orcas, humpbacks, dolphins, seals, sea lions and eagles all in there natural habitat. Thank you ❤️

2013_As a lonely traveler, I felt right at home!I will never forget this place, the warmth and cordiality with which I was greeted as their guest. Clean, warm and comfortable accommodation, the tours with their beautiful 'Tuan' sailing boat . They made my stay unforgettable. thanks2019 I cameback again, and again, and again.:)

I had an unforgettable experience on a whale watching tour with Seasmoke. We saw a juvenile humpback breach right in front of us (see pictures!). We also saw a large family of 20+ orcas (killer whales), porpoises, a group of at least 30 male sea otters, and a bald eagle nest with a baby bald eagle. The most magical experience happened when we were surrounded by humpback whales (at least 6-7 of them) and we didn’t know where to look because they kept appearing. We saw a feeding behavior called trout feeding that is unique to the whales around this area in which the humpback whale opened its mouth and let all the fish go inside. Nate was our tour guide and he did an excellent job spotting wildlife and sharing his extensive knowledge. He also made sure to not endanger the wildlife or impede in their lives by getting too close. I would highly recommend taking a tour with this company. They can put you up in Alert Bay or Alder Bay, which is very convenient, and are one of the best tour companies on Vancouver Island.
