LA Fitness

I have been going here since the gym first opened up back in 2017. Up until covid, the gym was great. Weights were always in the correct spots, it was clean, and didn’t seem so overcrowded (credit to employees at the time).After covid it’s the opposite. The dumbbell area is a disaster (never organized), half of the time dumbbells are at a random machine or in the PT training area. There’s groups of little kids working out like it’s a day care. It gets very overcrowded now especially after work. Washrooms never have paper towels to dry off after washing hands.People lack general gym etiquette and hygiene at this gym.The basketball court is not maintained. It’s always slippery and dusty. There’s a water fountain that’s been out of service for like 6 months now.. shows how well the gym is maintained and management oversight (non-existent).Changed rating from 5 star to 1 star (very generous). Don’t think anything will change or get better anytime soon as management and employees seem disinterested and unmotivated.

My experience at this particular location was far from positive. The gym was not clean and the service left a lot to be desired.During my visit, I brought a friend as my guest using a VIP guest pass. However, one of the staff members, Korey, was unprofessional in his approach. Korey insisted that since my friend's information was incomplete in the system, he must have visited an LA Fitness location within the past five years and couldn't be allowed in without paying 25 bucks for the day. Korey demanded that we leave a 5-star review to let my friend in for free. So I left one and am amending it now.Since then, my friend and I have checked into two other LA Fitness locations with the same VIP guest passes without any issues. A staff member at the Oakville location said his info was in the system since I added a pass for him.I would definitely question the integrity of all 4/5 star reviews for this location.P.S - hex/trap bar was only available at the exclusive personal trainer" assisted workout room that they have. Lot of machines need maintenance and lettering has faded on several machines (especially the rows)."

Very happy with this gym! Always tidy, staff are friendly. Changerooms, bathroom and shower are clean. Lots of equipment.There is also a private ladies-only workout room with all the equipment you could need.Most importantly, this gym offers childcare with wonderful staff and this is an essential amenity for families! I canceled my previous gym and joined LA Fitness just for the childcare. Overall, I’d recommend this gym to anyone.

Hard to find weights less than 25lbs and I’ve been going for 6 months. Maybe the women’s only studio needs to have their own weights so they don’t need to borrow from the main gym. Paper towel not always stocked. Staff is friendly. Gyms clean. Good selection of equipment. It’s packed but I’m sure management can’t do anything about that. It’s popular and in a very busy area. When you notice younger kids putting their personal items on equipment yet are chatting with their friends for a long time, just go and use the machine.

I don't use the gym, but I do lane swim every morning. The pool is a good size at about 25 yards in length but I do wish it was deeper. It's a relatively shallow pool, unlike for example a community centre. They do keep it clean and the changerooms are ok. They operate a swim school from this location weeknights which makes it difficult to lane swim if you do so at night.EDIT: I quit LA Fitness last Spring because of this location and their inability to service and keep their pool open on a regular basis/get info out to members about this. There were three weeks where the pool was closed far too often. Because i swim before work at 5 a.m. it became a difficult situation. I live pretty much across the street from this location so I want to be able to use it. Today again the pool is closed. Do they know when it will reopen? Nope. I have to take my chances. I just rejoined a few weeks ago and I firmly believe that the pools at LA Fitness are an after thought. I've belonged to other Fitness organizations that did not have nearly the issues that LA Fitness does with their pools. It annoys me that I am driving to other locations yet again because this one cannot keep their pool open. Great gym and friendly staff. I feel like any gyms, there are members with poor etiquettes or lack hygiene practices ie:wiping equipment after use but just do your part.My only concern is sometimes working out in the gym feels like you are stepping into a sauna as there are no fans or AC, especially in the main area. I like to go to the cycling room as there is more ventilation. I find the gym is a little more busy than it was when I signed up when it first opened but then it is located in the downtown core of Mississauga. I haven't had any negative experiences at the gym but refuse to sign up with a trainer unless they are knowledgeable about the vegan diet. Heavier weights are also needed in the women's room.

Basically told theirs no cancel fee all of a sudden I have to pay 50% be careful what they tell you they just want your money never in my life will I trust La fitness. I recommend places that are truly fair and honest with you so you don’t be in the position I am where I still pay 300$ a month and not even go. Be careful they didn’t explain policy rushed with everything to get their part of the commission. If you ever sign up with La fitness make sure you do make them say the policy also theirs many other gyms that are also cheaper and are honest with you .

My experience at LA fitness was outstanding. Not only was the facility clean but the equipment I needed was available. The one thing that stood out to me was the customer service experience. The entire staff was great but Marvin Stermolli was exceptional. He made me feel welcome and comfortable in a new gym setting.

This has been my go-to gym for several years now. Aside from it being complete with all the essential gym equipment and facilities I require, I find that the trainers and staff here are next-level friendly and hospitable.A big shout-out goes to Marvin for being amazingly helpful in finding me a low-commitment membership plan that works with my busy travel schedule.
