Holberg General Store/Lodge

Was camping for a few days at San Jo in Late November last year, ran out of beer halfway so we drove here to get more. Had exactly what i wanted at a reasonable price.Would buy more brews here again for sure.

I'm so grateful to Marc (Pops) and Kelly for their help when I made it to their site with a health problem. Truly good Samaritans who helped me with the first aid, bed and all the care till the ambulance arrived.Nice place too, with the clean rooms and beds. I had a chance to check" it with an unexpected visit :-)Thank you

My group got a flat on our way to Cape Palmerston just before Pop's store. We stopped in there to see if he by chance had a tire that would fit my car since we had concerns about doing the rest of the trip on the spare. He didn't have a tire but he was so incredibly kind and helpful and let us use their phone and wifi to call ahead to port hardy to order a new tire. He also very nicely told us to let some of the air out of our tires to handle the rougher roads in order to avoid flats, and he offered to do it for us free of charge. We spent some time chatting with him and he is just the most lovely fellow with an interesting story. Do stop in and pay him a visit if you're passing through! The store has everything you need for last minute camping purchases.

Pops (Mark) is amazing. We had some van trouble and he took care of us and helped us on our way, directed us to a fantastic boondocking site, and was just the perfect end to a slightly stressful drive. Stop by and give him some business!

Super nice guy! He helped us a lot during our trip. He knows a lot about this area and guided us for sightseeing. Also, he helped us with our flat tire!

Amazing place to stay on our way to do the San Josef Bay trail. Pops is so hospitable and nice. He went above and beyond for us and we can’t thank him enough. They had everything we needed and he even went out of his way to help us with a car issue. The room we stayed in was cute, clean and comfortable. Couldn’t recommend this place more! Will definitely be coming back again if we’re ever in the area.

On my way to San Jo I asked Pops" the owner if he had a room available for the following night. He said he didn't have one but that he could set one up for me. I stayed here to break up the journey from San Josef Bay to Port Hardy as I was bikepacking. Pops and his partner Van and staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was tidy and the bed was very comfortable. The sheets were amazing! The shower was hot and had good pressure. Provided towels were very clean.That night Pops and his partner Van were having family in from out of town for dinner. They invited me to a delicious outdoor BBQ and I was able to meet the extended family. It was a great experience and very welcoming. I felt like one of the family. There was another couple present who had their van break down a few days earlier and Pops had helped them get it back on the road.The attached store has some great supplies and comfort food since this place is so remote.The store and B&B went under new management in early 2021 I think.I would certainly stay here again."

Comfy cozy and close to all the sites. Pops was maybe the most hospitable person I’ve ever met. Can’t say enough good stuff about this place. Sells beer and groceries and gas there too. Don’t miss it.

Stayed here with pops. Amazing man. Hopefully get time to swing by again soon.
