The Strath - Ale, Wine, Spirit Merchants

After years having to deal with a provincial monopoly, this was a breath of fresh air. Great whisky selection and even friendlier knowledgeable staff, it was like shopping and one of the better UK shops.

Edit: Staff a little uppity and beer selection poor and overpriced, but if you are looking for a good selection of whiskey I guess this is the place to go, however staffing still feels like a bike shop where they are all condescending snobs that think you don't know anything about bikes/whiskey.Original review: Unfriendly staff, small store with poor selection and highest prices in town. I only go there when it's convenient, for example yesterday I was grabbing some noodlebox on Douglas, so I went across the street for a couple tall cans to go with dinner. I was denied service. I was perfectly sober. I asked the staff what is it about me that makes you think I shouldn't be served. He said it was my messy hair. I wear my hair messy, I don't comb it. I don't appreciate being judged by my hairstyle. Will not return, nor will my friends. Go to Swans if you're looking for a bottle shop downtown - friendly staff and way better prices.

very polite and friendly staff. Huge range of unique whiskeys and a beautiful selection of great wines. craft beer is better in other stores but you cant really complain as they still have 30+ different breweries. Highly recommend for its selection and location

Outstanding selection of Canadian Whisky and Single malts. Adam their Spirit Advocate was very knowledgeable and supportive with my decision in selecti g and hard to find whisky. I bought a bottle of Vancouver island Whisky from Macaloney’s Caledonian Distillery Glenloy"

The staff are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. A good all round selection of wines and spirits with a particular focus on Scottish malts that are hard to find elsewhere. Well worth a visit!

Such a wonderful and unique variety of all alcohol. The workers are friendly and very helpful. Loved all the craft beers that I had purchased.

Good liquor store. Toxic environment.Do not come here at night unless you want to run into drunk and tasteless people.Awesome selection of whiskey but I wouldn't necessarily go for wine.
