Just ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas. Wow. I've tried jerk chicken at several other places in Hamilton, and this was by far the best one. A building heat that subtly rises with each bite. A sweetness that mellows it out. The meat was very juicy, falling away from the bone. The rice and peas were well seasoned, with that little bit of oxtail gravy just taking it to the next level. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.The lady at the front was very nice to us as well. Definitely recommend Joyous C to anyone.

I enjoyed the oxtail and the fried fish delicious experience. The customer service was amazing very friendly and open planning on getting some black cake for Christmas

Believe the soup isn't fresh during the week - microwaved. I'm a soup fenatic and have been trying to get soup here during the week for a while. They guarantee it on weekends but not during the week. Finally they had it during week, but reheated in the microwave....Soup cooked in the morning doesn't usually need to be reheated in the microwave at a takeout restaurant l, which is what they claimed today. Just leave a small pot on the stove even if it is leftovers. Such a bad look hearing a microwave go off when youre looking for fresh food, especially if you dont use microwaves at home.This was pribably my 3rd or 4th shot and the customer service was hit or miss... a bit of a turn off for me so i doubt I'll be coming back!

I ordered brown stew fish and curry goat both were absolutely amazing. Tasty, fresh and cooked to perfection. Definitely a go to place.

Delicious food!!!! We ordered jerk chicken with rice, 3 beef patties, mac & cheese this evening. All I can say is the food was amazing. The jerk chicken infused with flavour. We definitely will be going back for more. I loved the patties. It is great to find authentic delicious food that makes you wanting more!! Well done and see you soon.

We order the oxtail, goat curry and the chicken dinners. Delicious meals :)The winner though, the jamaican parties were deliciousness.

Food was good overall. There is room for improvement. My food chicken and rice reheated in a microwave.Also there’s no menu or specials posted inside which makes it difficult to order.Hope to give this place a second chance and expect food hot and ready to go.

Visited because of the good reviews. Food was microwaved/heated up, which is really strange. The menu is small and I should have known walking in when the food is covered and nothing was warm. The staff would scoop the food in the container and walk to the back to heat it up. Disappointed and was not even tasty. Would not return.

Decides to try Joyous C Kitchen based on the strong reviews here on Google (we ordered through Uber) and we weren't disappointed. We had the jerk chicken, fried chicken, fried fish, tried both the rice and peas and white rice, plantain and festival. Everything was absolutely delicious. Full of flavour and cooked to perfection. This will be our go to spot for Jamaican food from now on. Also, thank you for writing us back. Your kind note was very much appreciated. Hope to come in and say hello one day soon!
