I spent all year growing my hair and had about 30 inches of hair when I went in yesterday. I really wanted some long layers with some shorter pieces around my face. The lady I had, who never introduced herself, was so aggressive with my head that I took Advil when I got home because my neck was in so much pain.She dry cut my hair after blow drying it straight, even though I have wavy/curly hair, and cut my entire hair with thinning scissors. To say I was terrified the entire appointment is an understatement.She didn’t want to listen to a word I had to say and kept defending herself when I’d question things or ask for things. She hacked at my hair for an hour where she left my hair even, and my hair that I wanted cut about 4 inches is now only 20 inches long. All for $75 + tip. It felt like an experience at first choice haircutters. Sad part is, the hair she mutilated could’ve been donated, but that’s a whole other story.I’d been here once before and loved my cut, experience, and left the place confident (but most important, I was listened to by the stylist) all for an extra $10. I will still return in the next coming year, but they need to re-evaluate this lady. I don’t leave reviews, but this lady doesn’t hold the standard that I’ve seen at this salon from the other hairdressers.

Love this salon!! It's super clean, modern design, a great atmosphere and location. Staff is super friendly and helpful. I have thick, course curly hair and my entire life it has been difficult to find a salon/stylist that has enough patience and experience when it comes to styling my hair type. Melissa is the stylist I see. She's absolutely fantastic and although she has clients of all hair types she specializes specifically in Curly Hair. Definitely recommend this salon and specifically Melissa for anyone with hair similar to mine!

I heard about Metropolis Hair Studio from my hairstylist early 2018. I was hesitant to commute from Markham to Woodbridge at first but I was committed to going because my hairstylist had moved to this location. Let’s just say it was well worth the trip! The studio is absolutely amazing, super clean and welcoming. I loved the style of the place, and the general energy there. Upbeat, young and vibrant. I got my hair trimmed, and had quality products used on my hair from the Aveda Curly line. Compared to other studios, it was a bit pricey, but SO worth the money. You definitely get what you pay for. Not to mention, they have professional and enthusiastic hairstylists! I’m really happy with the services offered to me at Metropolis Hair Studio and I will definitely be back.

Great experience. I will definitely be back. The salon was so tidy and had a peaceful ambiance when I had arrived. Sometimes I find salons to be quite chaotic, but I felt very comfortable here. The seats are organized in such a way that gives everyone a good amount of space so that you don’t feel crammed or anxious.This was my first haircut since the pandemic had started. Elena & the staff made me feel welcome and safe. Elena listened to my requests for the cut and style. She then explained her plan so that the style would be to my liking and executed beautifully. I’m very happy with the cut and new style. Elena was also very kind from start to finish. I will be back here with Elena for all future appointments.Prices are fair -actually much less than I had been paying for years for my hair length. $75 for a wash, cut, and style.

Elena was so warm and welcoming! I hated my previous haircut and she gave me such a beautiful cut. I was so nervous I left my phone so I didn't have any reference photos but it was like she read my mind. She took her time and walked me through everything she was doing.Hoping to get in soon and get some nice color.

I went there for special hair color and full highlights on 20th may. Firstly, the lady who was doing my hightlights she was super nice and friendly, and they mentioned I am not gonna get exactly the same color that I was looking for, and I agreed for that. They charged me 468$ for haircolour and highlights. Color washed out after the first headwash. In the beginning, I thought they did a great job, and now I think they just used cheap product on my hair that made my hair weak and rough, and I made a huge mistake by choosing them for hair colour. Now, some highlights are grey, and pink color is totally gone after the second hairwash. It's hard to say that I spent 468$ for 8 days of haircolour. and I don't know what to do.. I think it's gonna be so expensive if I am going back to resolve the haircolour issue. Not recommended for special haircolour.. overpriced, horrible service , disappointment..

Had a great experience with Elena. I am all about my Bangs and it is difficult to find Hairdressers that just have that knack and know how..But Elena sure knew I could tell right away from the way she angled the brush..that she was going to do a great job and she did!! I love my whole hair style at the end.

After discovering this place by asking a Lululemon employee where she got her bayalage done I have not gone to another hair dresser. I highly recommend going here if you are seeking a bayalage look. Ask for Cassandra!Cassandra and Natalia are experts are ombre and bayalage. They listen to what you want done and make suggestions as well. If you bring in a reference picture expect your hair to look even better.Cassandra especially understands the science of hair pigment and what each product does. I was impressed by her scientific knowledge and eagerness to learn the latest trendy techniques and styles.My hair seems healthier and stronger after going to Metropolis and it is well worth the drive to Vaughan!

Amazing hair salon. All the ladies are so friendly. I always have Natalya do my hair and she always gets it perfect. She listens to exactly what you want and how you'd like your hair done and somehow it always looks even better than you'd expect. She's always up to date with the latest styles and makes great recommendations for you personally. It's not the same cookiecutter haircut on every client, she does what makes you look your best.A bonus for me is the Aveda products they use are vegan and all natural so I don't have to question what is being used in my hair.The salon is super clean and modern. It's bright and inviting. But my favourite thing has to be getting shampooed. It's not just a quick wash and go. They take their time and massage your head as they wash for the most wonderful experience. Defiantly recommend this hair salon.

If you ever need to get your blonde re-done or fixed I highly suggest Natalya. I had balayage from a previous hairdresser & it wasn’t done properly. She fixed my hair and I could never thank her enough! Their products are top notch and she always recommends the best of the best for your hair. Prices are fair & every penny is worth it because I promise at the end of the day you’ll love your hair!
