Porteau Cove Olympic Legacy Cabins
This is our second trip to Porteau Cove Cabin. Last time was uneventful and the location was generally beautiful so we booked again. When we booked we signed rental contract which stipulated that bedding, linens, towel, TV would be included. They unilaterally took away everything. No pillows, no sheets, no towels, and no TV. And they unilaterally changed our checkin-checkout time without any notice. They claim they emailed us but when asked could not provide any evidence of doing so.This is a breach of contract pure and simple. When we contacted them to address this deficiency they stalled and waited till after our scheduled departure time to even respond. Then they claimed that we stayed" therefore were not entitled to a refund.Had to contact VISA for a dispute to get money back. Ridiculous. The location is amazing though. Minus the train noise at night but you need to expect this. Also expect critters in your room. Twice now there has been a rodent in our cabin. I want to say squirrel instead of mice but honestly

This review is for the cabin. We had a reservation for 4 adults and 2 kids for 2 nights. Pre-payment was required so we paid using credit card. First night, we were asked to keep quiet because there were complaints from the campers. We thought it was ridiculous. We were there to relax and have a good time. We have 2 little kids. We were family occupants. As far as I was concern, it was the staff themselves that were complaining because the cabins are located right by the gate of the campgrounds. There was no way the campers were complaining because there was a party going on in the campgrounds. I tried to complain the party for being too loud also since they were complaining us being loud. The staff said they notified them noise already. Right!!! Whatever!Next morning, we were asked to leave the cabin and they were literally kicking us out. So we had no choice but to leave which was really frustrating. I asked about the refund for 1 day. They said they would give us our money back for that day. We just had to call the office and they would know what to do. Guess what!?! After calling them for 2 weeks, finally we got a response. And to make things worse, they will not issue us a refund because they said it was our fault that we got kicked out and there was no way they would give our money back. We tried to call them back but never got a response ever. It was not a great experience. My family and I will never ever go back to this place. I told my relatives. I even told most of my friends. And I will tell all the rest of my friends, and all the people I will meet about my experience with this place. If I could give this place (negative) -5 stars, I would have done it so.If you like funeral or cemetery, then this is the place for you.

Beautiful cabins with a wonderful view and nice (rocky) beach access. But I'd never stay there again due to the late night trains that rumble by about 30 feet from the cabin. Was woken up at ~ 3 am and again at ~ 6 am. Felt exhausted and drained the next day.

Some communication hiccups: If you have NOT heard from Sea to Sky within 14 days definitely email them, we had not either and I contacted them, some sort of glitch perhaps as they said it showed as sent, but wasn't anywhere in my email/spam folders. It stipulates the NEW contract with COVID - bring your own bedding, different check in/out times, protocols. Super important as you have to be prepared to bring things. Also, different check in/check out times. The cabins themselves are great. They're super small, and I can't imagine more than 2 adults staying in them even though they sleep more, but perfectly cozy for 2. While the DVD selection was small, there is WIFI if you bring something to hook up to the small TV if you need movies. We actually enjoyed watching what was there, kind of a fun adventure. The kitchen supplies are very basic - definitely bring your own coffee making vessel, there wasn't one provided (luckily, we did!) The staff are super nice and helpful if you have an issue. The check in/out times are a bit of a hassle right now (5pm check in, 10am check out), and considering you are expected to leave it tidy, there are no beds for them to make (bring your own bedding/pillows/towels, dish towels!) and they cart off all the kitchen stuff in totes to be sanitized, it seemed a bit silly, but I suppose they have their reasons. The train did come by but if it came by in the middle of the night, we slept right through it, no train horn. So, that's good.I really, really appreciated that they decked them out for the holidays. That was a really nice touch.Overall, it's a really nice place. Very basic, but beautiful location and nice little cabins. Perfect if you just want to relax and go for short walks and more or less hunker down. Bring any special things beyond the basics you may want for cooking, and things like tea towels/paper towels, etc. Only TP was provided.

Really nice Place. Great view. Cabins are clean and comfy, but no chance for sleep. The Trains do make a lot of noise. Even with Ear Plugs - i could´t sleep. So no thank you - never again!

Worth every dollar!!! We will be rebooking our next trip.Positives: the views are absolutely amazing, your only steps away from the ocean. It's quiet and secluded even though the close proximity to the highway and train tracks.Negatives: Ladder to the loft bed can be tricky and for able-bodied people only. No fire pit, needed to rent a expensive propane fire ring at the cabins which lacks the true fire luster.

NOTE: they do not provide linens. The cabins themselves are nice, but it should be made much more clear that bedding and linens are not provided.

So this weekend I found myself staying at these quaint cabins in Porteau Cove, which are typically booked year around. With both cabins side by side (sharing a court yard)it was perfect for two families of four to spend some time together. With great hiking areas and lots of local attractions (shout out to the Britannia mining museum) its a great escape from the city with a minimal drive. So why only 4 stars.... the cabins are small, stuffy and awkward to live in but so long as you out and about for most of the time it's not to big of a deal. I also found the website very limited in information like you should know in advance that the bathroom has only a small shower stall. (See picture). In closing i would recommend these cabins during warmer weather and be sure to ask all your questions up front. Keep in mind for the price you pay to rent the cabin (minimum 2 nights stay) there is a really nice resort near by offering similar rates but it's definitely not ocean front.
