HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I stumbled upon them while I was shopping in Yorkville on a busy Saturday afternoon. They were kind enough to fit me in for a walk-in eye exam on the spot. Huge selection of glasses. So many choices of styles, frames, and colours. Gina and Alison were AMAZING and so patient while I tried on hundreds of glasses. I was able to pick two pairs and they were ready less than a week later! If you are looking for glasses, or an eye exam- they are the place to go! An outstanding experience! The staff was personable, knowledgeable, caring, kind and supportive. I was warmly greeted and treated in a totally respectful way. Together we were able to select the right glasses for me. Suggestions were made to help me think through the varied, interesting, colourful, exciting options. However, in the end, the choice was mine. There was no pushing or “selling”. I felt really cared about and really comfortable. I could have spent the whole afternoon with them!

We’re lucky to have stumbled on this place after a disappointing visit to a larger chain store up the street. Tucked discreetly under an old, brown condo building on Bay street, this small unpretentious ‘mom and pop’ shop has a large variety of frames for any budget and style. Not only that, but unlike the other store in the area, the staff are warm, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. Being one of the few family-run businesses left in the downtown core, Cristall Opticians has been around for decades. When it comes to fitting frames and customer satisfaction, their longevity shows.We ended up getting four pairs of glasses. However, because I have a small nose bridge, it’s hard to find glasses that don’t slide down my face. Allison, one of the co-owners, has been so flexible and accommodating. I was going to resign myself to using stick-on nose pads, but she suggested an entirely new pair. She could’ve been lazy and left me to my stickers, but she didn’t. The pair she recommended was excellent; they fit perfectly and they’re of a style I didn’t really consider before — I love them! I’ve spent a lifetime sticking nose pads on glasses. I have been going to Cristall opticians for seven years and extremely satisfied. Great array of frames and the prices are great as well.
