Talan and Ryan know exactly what they are doing. Excellent communication prior to the hunt. From brushing in blinds to putting us directly in anticipated flight path of birds. These guys are pro and I will be booking again! We were on the birds all morning!

The last two springs I've organized a snow goose hunt for a large group of friends with Northern Winds. Each hunt was a lot of fun and our guides put us in front of tons of birds! My advice would be to brush up on your shotgunning before your hunt. Some hunters are pretty rusty by the time April rolls around.We will most likely look into another spring hunt next year. I'm looking forward to going again!

We had a great time with Talan. You can tell he put the time in for our group with scouting as we had our limits on geese in no time.He made sure to respect the fields we hunted on by having the other guide put back the swaths the way they were left when we packed up. That kind of respect for the farmers is a level of care I have never seen before and is a little thing that goes a long way and I assume allows him to get access to many fields that others cannot.He was great on doing a safety orientation for the group for those who were new to layout blinds, and was very respectful that it was the first time hunting for a member of our group.Would highly recommend.

We’ve booked goose hunts with Northern Winds Outfitting the last 2 years in a row. Both times have been a fantastic experience. The accommodations are second to none, and very comfortable for our group of 6 hunters. Talan and his team of guides are all very knowledgeable and work extremely hard to ensure that each hunt is a top notch experience. There are no shortage of birds, and the sheer volume of snow geese was staggering. We will be booking again with Northern Winds Outfitting.

Talan and his team are top notch. Guiding is an imperfect science that is affected by so many variables that guides try to manage. Weather, flight patterns, hunting pressure - there is no way to control any of it. But you wouldn’t know it based on the hunt we had! These guys did an amazing job of scouting multiple excellent options, securing permission from land owners and meticulously preparing the blinds and decoy spread. They gave us every opportunity to have a successful hunt. On top of all of that they are really good guys that just love being in the field and sharing the experience with their clients.

Talan is running a great outfitting company. Very knowledgeable. Did a one day morning hunt and we were residents which most outfitting companies in Alberta will not take residents. Had us on a lot of very mature mallard ducks and a few Canada's. Weather was extremely windy the night before and had a random freak snow storm at 11am towards the end of our hunt with extreme winds again. Shot 9 shy of mallard duck limit for 5 guys (31 ducks) and 1 Canada goose as well as 1 snow goose. Most of the mallards were mature drakes. As for the snow geese, he was able to bring a flock of 20 snow geese into an only Canada geese and duck decoy spread which was very impressive. Should have had more but me and the rest of the shooters couldn't hit the broad side of a barn it seemed that morning. Talan still stayed professional and never commented or said nothing on our shooting. I would definitely recommend Talan and Northern Winds Outfitting to other and will look into booking a Spring and Fall hunt in 2020 (provided the wife and our newborn let me...LOL).

I have made 15 trips to Canada, and have never had shooting like l had shooting with Talon ,and his guides. We hunted three days early limits of geese, and ducks every day, he really put us on the birds, We will be back next year for sure. The Lodge is spectacular we where very impressed with the accommodations, all the comforts of home. If you want a hunt of a lifetime, I highly recommend you book with Talon

Cancelled my hunt twice, and kept my money after booking a hunt that was out of scope for what I booked initially on the third try and wouldn't let me reschedule. Talan also insulted me via text message afterwards. Cannot recommend poor ethics and professionalism.

After many great duck hunts throughout the USA, I finally got to my bucket list hunt in Canada and boy am I glad I joined my friends from PA and Florida on this hunt. We had what I now describe as a once in a lifetime hunt that I plan to book every year. Talan, Sam and Alex and the entire crew from scouts to cooks do everything possible to make your trip fantastic and as smooth as possible. To provide such a great experience requires planning and hard work and that's what the crew at Northern Winds Outfitting does. I'm already dreaming about my return in 2023.
