Devastated to see such blatant disregard for the environment! We arrived, in May, to find industrial mowers clearing the grounds of dandelions. You could almost hear the bees being crunched up! If you must mow (you don't), at least wait until the pollinators have flown. Seriously, they need help... give the bees a chance!

The positives- online courses expansion- most profs are nice- good campus with a lot of activities throughout the entire year- great peopleThe negative- not expanding the Durham campus I think MANY of these students would rather go to the Durham campus but it’s only two buildings.- useless degree requirement for example in computer science you need 14 “science “credits to get a BSC?? )0.5 per course. I don’t see other schools like brock university, York, etc. doing this stupid idea.-useless INDg requirement I don’t see any other schools imposing that- bus transportation is mid

Glad to be leaving this school along with many friends. Computer Science is rigged at this school. department wants you to take science credits " and its 14.0 credits(0.5 per each course). Probably gonna go to a better school like york or brock. Also I dont understand why theres an indigenous requirement."

Trent University has a beautiful campus surrounded by nature and it is even nicer in the fall. I have had a good experience at this school, however, I wish they sent more information over email about clubs and so on to make it more accessible to students who are unaware, as well as events on campus. For profs I have had a mix of good and bad, some teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable and sometimes others not so much, but it is usually like that at any school you attend. There is a wide variety of options for classes and I would recommend this school to others. For living on campus I would recommend either the annex’s or Gzowski college for the best experience!

Best primarily undergraduate univ. In Ontario. I had an excellent experience there both for undergrad and masters science programs. Smaller class sizes and very caring and supportive professors and staff.

Trent University is a great choice for those who did not make the grade for more prestigious institutions or are starting over again. For those who strive for academic excellence, Trent University faculty provide world class instruction that prepares students for future academic work or careers after graduation. The only drawbacks is its location and the long, dark winters. If you can overcome these minor drawbacks, Trent University may be right for you.

The gentleman who dealt with my call this morning regarding my daughter's application. Was so understanding and helpful. Now fingers crossed it all works out for my daughter. Her heart is set for Trent.

Having the best experience of my life at Trent right now in my third year. One of the best universities and orientation weeks in the country in my opinion. The professors and the facilities are certainly top notch and students like me are the most engaged of any university which has a progressive culture rooted in advocacy and activism fighting for Indigenous rights, student success, food insecurity, housing affordability and social justice issues as well. I have a positive perspective on the Indigenous course requirement and since I have seen nothing but great things about STEAM students succeeding in these courses from professors, college principals, and from themselves, let’s clear things up a bit! The ICR is meant to give students CHOICES, OPTIONS, ALTERNATIVES, and FLEXIBILITY in what courses to take if a student does not want to face the big research project (Homelands Assignment) that is the main assignment in INDG 1001 which is intense work for any science and math students whose strength is thinking logically through labs and seeing things through a microscopic lens. To combat the stereotypes of the Indigenous Course Requirement being dumbed down, nope it is not a repeat of the mandatory high school “Indigenous Literature” course that you were forced to take in Grade 11. Instead, these courses encourage you to think broadly about Indigenous issues, have a greater appreciation of them, learn how to have a diverse worldview that is not Eurocentric, and expand your horizons a bit on a wide variety of Indigenous issues, not just Indigenous literature. That might include truth and Reconciliation, treaties, being exposed to Indigenous peoples around the world, and in the city as well. For these STEAM students who believe that they do not to learn about Indigenous Knowledge and believe in a one-eyed lens, nope you are wrong - in the real world, you are committing an offence of not consulting with Indigenous people and listening actively and deeply with empathy with their concerns of putting a mine in Northern Ontario, being dismissed for not having a heart attack, instead being discharged and sent home so they can suffer from their longstanding illness from intergenerational trauma or being experimented with improper chemicals and medicine and not being racially sensitive to their needs and consulting with them first about how to best to undergo the research study without causing longstanding harm to Urban Indigenous people who have gone through a lot in their lives like poverty, drug addictions, being exposed to residential schools, low expectations in the education system, obesity, and diabetes as well. You need to learn concepts like Two-Eyed Seeing, Indigenous Enivronmental Knowledge, be immersed in Indigenous culture, how to pursue your role in the truth and reconciliation process, and most importantly, how to assist Indigenous people just by being in their shoes and give that beautiful gift that is called assistance. The Indigenous Course Requirement teaches ALL students how to be good and moral human beings while trying to understand how to contribute to the reconciliation process that is the new reality on Turtle Island at the moment. It’s that simple

I've been studying here for past 4 months. Campus and faculties are amazing. But the AMOD program in Data Analytics is not that good. I won't recommend as the courses designed do not provide adequate learning and neither is facility supportive.I thought education here would better than in my home country, but I was wrong.
