They came to our home and without our authorization they ripped apart the door where the meter was , they changed it and they threatened to live us without power if we complained. He was so aggressive and rude that I was ready to call 911. He refused to give me his name and when I try to call the police he left in a hurry

Everything about BC Hydro is terrible. They have a monopoly and do what they want. They send you marketing material disguised as customer surveys with loaded questions. They charge me to change addresses, they charge me more to use power when I'm actually home, they charge me a base rate even if I'm on vacation and using no power. I hate this company. Would give 0 stars if I could.

Terrible customer service . BC Hydro was replacing a telephone pole in our laneway in Kitsilano using a subcontractor called All Teck. The trucks pulled up at 8:3O am on May 25 and within 45 min we had no power . According to the subcontractor , we would be without power until 4:30 pm It is BC Hydro’s responsibility to inform everyone in the block, 3 weeks before by phone and email . No one in our strata received a notification and I checked to make sure they had all my correct contact information. I phoned May 25, 26 and June 18 to complain and request followup. I spoke to a supervisor still no follow up.They have a monopoly and don’t care about their customers. My next call will be to a manager. BTW All Teckis a fabulous company with great customer service. They were apologetic about the power outage. They also had a handyman repair my fence promptly as it was damaged during the telephone pole replacement.

When I moved to Vancouver I was surprised by the inexpensive hydro. I haven't had anything to complain about until now.About a year ago, I moved downtown. Since then there have been three power outages. The first was a transient power outage that occurred at 2 a.m. I was woken when the back-up generator in the apartment building came on for a few minutes. That was concerning.Next was a planned power outage (Outage #: WO2137014-03) on January 20, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to replace a pole in the alley. BC Hydro sent out a postcard and an email advising me of the power outage. The next postcard I received was for a planned outage (Outage #: WO2137014-04) on February 15th from 9 a.m. till 10 p.m. I complained about the length of the outage because I have never experienced such a long planned outage. The BC Hydro website lists all the buildings impacted by a planned power outage. In my case, apartment buildings on Robson Street, Gilford Street, and Haro Street were affected, probably over 100 households. As it happens the planned power outage went till midnight. 15 hours! That's some planning. If you are ever in such a situation it would be best to book a hotel room for the duration of the outage.

I would like to put ZERO if it's possible.. First of all, horrible customer service (Julie). BC hydro construction guy messed up my car. I claim parking issue due to their construction work is very closed to my parking property. Although I already showed picture of my car, they decided not to take any action with no apology. BC hydro has no sympathy. Very selfish ans rude.

This is a review not for BC Hydro but for a company called Allteck that they contracted to change the electric pole outside of our house on August 26, 2021. Their work was incompetent and unprofessional. Below are a few things I observed:1. They cut our internet/tv cable causing us to be without the and internet for a week. They did not bother to inform us that they had cut the cable. (I’m going to assume this was a mistake as Shaw had no idea why our internet wasn’t working and our neighbors had no problem).2. They left wires hanging down from the pole low enough that any one could grab them (see picture).3. One worker dropped a cable they had cut on the tree in front of our neighbors house. He then proceeded to absolutely REEF on the wire to get it out out the tree without a care to damaging the tree. The wire then fell on the neighbors front fence and was dragged off. Again showing zero respect for peoples property.

One star only because I can't put zero. BC Hydro has become a monopoly and because of that they treat their customers like yesterday's garbage. If you call them for a a simple address they keep you on the phone for half an hour and then they hang up on you. Twice. They recommend to go online but their site rejects your email as spam. Oh, I could go on and on about this despicable company. I wish they had competition to teach them how to treat their customers.

Extremely poor customer service. I called to get insight about my account and the lady over the phone was extremely defensive and condescending. Extremely shocked with this experience. Would love for this call to be reviewed as it should not be happening to other customers. If there is any details needed to do so, I will be happy to provide them.

Bc Hydro is a sorry excuse for a green energy company. They take what could be a very responsibly managed power resource and make it embarrassingly bad for the environment.Miss-managed doesn't even begin to explain this energy supplier. Their employees should be ashamed to work for them in their current state. It truly appears as though they are working to bankrupt themselves. Probably so their holdings can be purchased by parties interested in owning their reservoirs/lakes. Contained water is legally commodifiable.
