Meineke Car Care Center - CLOSED

Geoff and the mechanics at Meineke in Barrie are awesome! I like having the ability to book appointments online, as it’s super convenient.Very reasonable prices, and if you’re on a budget, they’ll let you know what absolutely needs to be done and what can wait. Which is rare to find at automotive repair shops these days; coming from someone who’s been overcharged by mechanics elsewhere, told to fix things that weren’t in need of repair, or taken my vehicle in for a simple oil change only to drive away and have the engine light come on to find a myriad of other problems suddenly appear. :/ I like that I never worry about that kind of stuff happening with Meineke. They stand by their work there, and I trust them 110% with my vehicle every time.I recommend a lot of friends to go here, especially ones that are in college, as they give Georgian College students a discount. Which is nice to see. I wish more businesses in Barrie (and other areas where colleges/universities are located) would do that! Keep up the great work, Meineke - Barrie!

If you need to get something more than a simple oil change . Do Not Go Here . You’ve been warned.These guys leave out information and prices than they blame you. I brought my vehicle here and left dreading and feeling so stupid for not just waiting a week to see my usual mechanic because of scheduling.Don’t trust these people. They are the type of guys that give mechanics a bad name. If you like honest mechanics who aren’t out to scam money from customers . Than absolutely do not trust this place.

Terrible! For starters they advertise $25 oil changes, but lie and tell everyone they need a more expensive oil, so you don't actually end up paying $25...According to them my car also requires double platinum spark plugs, when I know for a fact she takes platinum. On top of this, it literally took them an hour to change my oil, and check my brakes...You'd think that would be it, but at the end of it all, they accomplished not properly tightening my oil filter! So there goes half the oil they just put in LOL. I wont be returning, or recommending their services to anyone.

I wouldn't advise anyone to go there. The owner Greg is so ignorant to customers. WE bought 2 oil change packages. Buy 3 get 2 free. Upgraded to the synthetic package. Then on the second appointment there was synthetic oil change fee. In which I refused to pay. Since then I've been there 3 separate appointments , in which he cancelled on me as I came in on time for appointment . NOW every time I call he's hung up on me. SAYS to busy to talk. I wouldn't pay them any of your hard earned money to be lied or cheated.

Booked a 10am appointment to have my tires changed, which are on rims. Took them an an hour and half. Don't bother making an appointment as they take walk ins, which get done before you!! They advertise $29.95 for tire change and don't tell you until you get there that it's an extra $5/tire if they have clean and grind the tires and of course they had to do all the tires and it ends up costing $60 for a tire change that is on rims!!! The guy doing the tire swap also moved at a snails pace and made sure to come in and get himself a coffee while we sat there waiting for our vehicle.

I do not recommend this shop. The owner of the shop, Geoff Gaggi, is absolutely rude and has no manners. He is one of those people who do not deserve to own a business in the service industry. He is doing a disservice to the community and to his employees. Having car problems is already stressful enough and people go to a car care shop to get the service they need and get treated with respect and courtesy. This is exactly what Meineke advertises and the owner of this shop fails to deliver. You would not expect this from a store owner.I made an appointment online and even though I received email confirmation, the secretary had no idea about the appointment until she checked with the owner. She was ready to dismiss what I was telling her and told me to wait for an hour. Luckily, the owner acknowledged the appointment and my car was taken in after 20 minutes.I went to the shop to find out why my car was shaking and stalling and I was told to pay $129.00 plus tax for a diagnostic test which I accepted - I really shouldn't have because there are other shops out there willing to check the car and give an estimate for free. After paying for their diagnostic service, I asked to speak to the technician about the state of my car and get his expert opinion as he had just conducted a diagnostic test. The owner of the shop basically told me that it is hard to say and dismissed my concern and request. When the technician came out and explained to me what he thought for about 5 minutes, the owner of the shop interrupted the conversation and said that it is enough talking and that the technician needs to get back to the floor.I then asked the owner of the shop to tell me if the technician checked why the car was overheating and he told me to first fix the issues identified by the technician and then worry about the overheating. I asked him again to tell me if the technician checked it because I paid for a diagnostic service and he then said yes, we tested it and found no issues. He made it uncomfortable to find out what is going on with my car even though I had already paid for their time and services.When I got home, I noticed a shop fees charge on the invoice and did not know what it meant. I was never informed about being charged for shop fees." I called the shop to find out what shop fees are and the secretary lady with long blonde hair stuttered and really did not know what to say. I told her it is not right to charge customers fees and not make them aware of it. She then told me to speak to the store own and put me on hold. I waited on hold for 10 minutes and the owner did not pick up the call.I called again and the secretary transferred me again and the store owner picked up. I asked him about the shop fees and he proceeded to read me a definition and a long list of items that are included under "shop fees." I asked him what supplies they used for the service they provided me and he said he will not answer that.I then told him that it is rude to talk to customers while chewing food and he hung up the phone on me lol it is hard to believe that a store owner is not aware of how his customers will perceive him when he chews and talks with his mouth full of food.I feel sorry for his workers because their boss is misrepresenting their work. Avoid this place! The owner does not deserve your hard earned money."

Was able to book an appointment in sufficient time, they were able to work with my schedule and got my repairs done on time. The staff and owner are very knowledgeable and kind, they even took the time to explain exactly what was wrong with my car. Great place, would recommend!!

Paid $49 for an AC check and was told no leaks. $200 for recharge. My husband called BS. Turned out the rear evaporator was shot and the $200 recharge would have lasted 10 minutes. They didn't even test it. Scammers, don't ever go there. I would bet they don't even change the oil when they do oil changes!

Best place in town! These guys are fantastic and went above and beyond to help me (a single mom of two) out on a really hard day. The are very personable and understanding and I am so so happy that this is the shop I stumbled across when I needed help. The shop was packed with some cars waiting aswel but I still didn't wait any longer than 30 min to have my tire patched and to be on my way. Thank you so much meineke for the overall experience. Never did I think I could have been so happy about having my tire patched :D :D
