Valley Medical Laboratories - Main Downtown

I’d received noticed from my physician to pick up and submit a lab test/kit. Unfortunately the Valley lab clinic on Leon could not locate the required requisition. The lab today was not at capacity and the line to reception was at one to two persons during the time I was there.I was somewhat frustrated to have waited 25 minutes to have been informed of this.

Call center transferred me to the front desk. They were so rude! Very unwilling to help or explain how the process works. Finally got transferred to billing who gave me the information I needed in less than 3 minutes.

Doesn't post when they close early, or for holidays online. Very frustrating to show up at the door with a piece of paper telling me they're closed.

I have extreme anxiety getting blood taken as I have the most difficult veins to find and get blood from. The last few times I’ve been (NOT THIS LOCATION) have been horrible experiences with unsympathetic staff. I was putting this off because of my experiences and anxiety, but got the courage to try this location. STAFF AND PHLEBOTOMISTS WERE SO VERY KIND AND CARING.PEDRO AND RACHEL were amazing and did everything to make me comfortable. They were patient trying to poke me as few times as possible and I can’t thank them enough for being so kind and sympathetic. This made things much easier and it’s people like Pedro and Rachel that make these places less daunting to visit.Thank you both for being wonderful and great at what you do.

The lab techs were super friendly, but the receptionist wasn't and couldn't even type the address correctly as written. When gently told to correct it, gave a stare and showed annoyance.

This is generally a great place to go ! Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The only thing I would say if your sensitive with blood being taken, ask for someone who is experienced. I’m a fainter and terrified of needles which the staff knows, so naturally I wouldn’t expect to get a student. He was very friendly, but the students should definitely gain a bit more experience or be accompanied by a supervisor if they’re going to insert the needle more than twice and leave a 3 inch bruise on the vein. He was very apologetic and was doing his best! Just something to watch out for!

I recently attended here for some blood work ordered by my doctor. I usually go to the Capri Mall location because they are closer, but with the pandemic they are appointment only, so the Leon Ave location is more convenient for me.Their pandemic safety procedures (for both clients and staff) are efficient and make me feel safe. Even though they were very busy when I went, they got clients in and out quickly and efficiently. The person that drew my blood was friendly and professional.Overall, a much better experience here than when I had to go to the KGH blood lab on two different occassions.
