Abby Creek Kennel

We have left our GSP in the care of Abby Creek Kennel a few times and always have a happy tired dog to pick up. They have clean facilities as well as indoor & outdoor play areas.SECOND REVIEW: we recently had our dog stay with Abby Creek when an old wound caused an emergency, LUCKILY Mike noticed something wrong and immediately contacted our vet to bring our dog in. Mike took special care of our family member until we got back from our trip, Thank you very much Mike!

Abby Creek Kennel is spotlessly clean, spacious and well run. Mike and Marsha train dogs; they understand dogs. This is a labour of love. We have used Abby Creek for the past three years and we have been very pleased with the care each time. It speaks volumes that our fur-baby goes crazy with joy when she sees either Mike or Marsha. I should also mention that our pup’s feeding routine requires extra effort and that was no problem.

Mike and Marsha are awesomeThey are conscientious and very caring about the animals in their care, they even offer a pick up and drop off we love that! We have the utmost confidence our dogs are well looked after when they “vacation” at Abby Creek!

We have boarded our dogs at Abby Creek Kennel more than six times this past year, sometimes for a few days but often for a week or moreWe have two standard poodles. One of our dogs requires medications for epilepsy 3 times/ day. Mike always makes sure that she gets her medication on time . Our dogs get excited when they see their beds getting packed up and are happy to go off to “ puppy daycare” ! When we pick them up they are clean and healthy. We would recommend Abby Creek Kennel highly to anyone .Karen and Paul

Mike and Marsha are not only absolutely pros - they understand dogs and have decades of experience - they are lovely people too. I have absolute confidence and trust in them and have no issues leaving my boy with them. Finn loves staying at Abbey Creek - he adores them both - and he falls asleep on the way home in the car. I know he has been loved and well cared for - and exercised too. I highly recommend Abbey Creek Kennel for your beloved pet.

I love taking my German Shepherd to Abby Creek. She leaves excited and comes back relaxed and happy. Mike is a true gentleman and is very knowledgeable with dogs. I find Abby Creek Kennel is top notch for cleanliness, quality, and service. Mike is very accommodating and understanding. I would definitely recommend Abby Creek to anyone.

Honestly, super disappointed with this kennel. I initially emailed them to find out if they had availability for my dogs. Email responses were very vague and unprofessional. I said that in my response, which they then asked for a number to phone me at. On the phone call I was reassured that all pets staying would need to show proof of vaccination, need to leave contact info, and emergency contact info. With that reassurance I felt a little better about leaving my dogs there.At the time of drop off it took a while for the owners to even come to the door. He briefly showed me where the dogs were staying. I was told over the phone they would be in separate kennels. Ended up being put together - which was totally fine, but not intended for. He barely asked me about how they needed to be fed, just briefly over the phone. I left 5 big chew bones for them just incase they were anxious, brought their beds, and their collars and leashes.I left my dogs there without showing any vaccination records or even being asked to see them, did not leave any contact info or emergency contact info, was just told a pick up time and rushed out of the kennel.On pick up, which was also very informal, I had to wait a while for him to come out/he wouldn’t of know unless I called the number on the door. Dogs were brought out, which he didn’t even know which one was which (kept mixing up my male/female. One is 7 and one is 7 months and completely different breeds- hard to mix up). One collar was somehow taken off the dog and chewed up, he didn’t give me any of my extra food that I left for the dogs, nor the treats, and their beds were full of pee - which simply has me wondering how often they were let out. I don’t board my dogs often, so to have this type of experience was really disappointing. I thought the price was fair, but to loose out on food, treats, any communication what so ever, and to be left feeling this way doesn’t compensate

Mike is fantastic. Our Goldendoodle loves her times at Abby Creek. Well worth the extra $$ for the daily walk around the amazing rural property and the cookie/PB Kong treat. Whether for a day away or a two week vacation, your dog will be safe and content. Mike is pretty easygoing. Don’t be put off by the lack of paperwork or the occasionally slow response times. This isn’t a big operation—it’s Mike giving his time and attention to your pet. I really appreciate his flexibility around drop off and pick up times. Prices are very reasonable and we have peace of mind leaving our dog there.
