Bark Busters In Home Dog Training - Scarborough / Durham Region

We are so happy that we got to know Bark Busters! Juliet, our trainer, has been a huge help in training our 2 yr old toy poodle Luffie. Since our dog arrived from the Philippines in September, she has been exhibiting unusual behaviors that must be corrected. We started her training with Juliet on November 2022 and it's been a work in progress full of learning. We learned a lot from her about our dog's behavior. In our first two sessions, we noticed a huge improvement in Luffie's behavior. We learned about the importance of leadership, respect, confidence, and boundaries, which made our relationship with Luffie stronger.

Juliet Prey is our Dog Trainer and we are so very pleased with the sessions we have had. After only 2 sessions, we already notice a big change in our Golden Retrievers, Duke and Daisy. They are more focused on us and they listen. We can tell that they are looking at us, as the Leader of the Pack - and we have learned that dogs want a Leader. I'm a first-time dog owner and I happened to have a German Shepherd to start with:). I was challenged all the time by the GSD due to a lack of discipline. Juliet is highly professional in terms of dog training and educating the dog owner to put things on the right track. I'm a lot happier now with my GSD with Juliet's guidance and training, and I highly recommend her for her professionalism!

After months of research, we decided that the Shiba Inu would be the best dog to fit our families lifestyle. We knew that this dog was unlike most breeds as its deemed as a free thinking dog that requires a strong leader and is known to be one of the more difficult breeds to train. We didn't even understand what this meant at the time. We had never owned a dog and were enamored with its fox like appearance along with the breeds many other amazing qualities which all hold true. Venger (female Shiba) came home with us in April 2022 (11 weeks old). When we selected Venger from the litter, her brothers and sisters were all rowdy but Venger was afraid of everything, clawing to go back inside while her siblings wrestled on the ground. After spending a month with her we quickly realized that we needed to teach ourselves how to teach Venger as we were failing. Venger was like a small buzzsaw sawing through everything in her path. We were not strong leaders. I placed a call to Bark Busters who booked a zoom meeting with Juliet. Juliet took the time to listen to our struggles and offered immediate strategies to engage in to help Venger become the dog we wanted. This part is important as every person's has a different view as to what is ok and what is not ok for their pets. We began some simple tasks that would help establish us as confident pack leaders (All family members present). Juliet put together a plan and came to our house to put that plan into action. The moment she walked into our house, her confident nature showed us how to be a strong leader with our dog. We went over strategies on how to stop the chewing, how to save our furniture, how to deter nipping/biting/scratching and build Venger's confidence. Juliet spent several hours with us going over how to be a strong leader for our dog. We took notes and promised to follow her lead to a tee. As we got better as pack leaders, Venger got better as a family member. Juliet came back about a month later to help solidify our efforts as we were still learning also. We made some adjustments and received training on walking using a Bark Busters collar. We really needed to work on bringing confidence to Venger as she was afraid of most things new.Here's what we determined, when we followed Juliet's guidance, we got everything we wanted in Venger. When we strayed, even for a little, Venger would see the weakness and revert back. The relationship we have with Juliet has been so important. She came to our house several more times along with her answering our emails and the occasional zoom session. By 10 months, Venger became everything we asked for in a dog. She listens to everything we ask - remember, Shiba's are very smart and very independent, listening to its owner is not a priority for this breed unless you make it a priority. Venger is respectful to all family members, she doesn't nip/bite, she doesn't chew on socks/shoes/baseboards/Kleenex etc, she doesn't resource guard, she loves other dogs and is happy and gentle. She can be left home alone without issue. Her recall is exceptional for a Shiba. I openly say this to Juliet You are the only service that is actually worth the money". Like people

Juliet has been incredible in helping us train our puppy, Roxy. We adopted her when she was just over 3 months. At that point, she was house-broken and would willingly go in her crate (as long as we didn't close the door), but that was it. We were basically starting from scratch. Juliet came that first week and gave us tons of actionable information and exercises so we could confidently work with Roxy on our own. That very first night, we were able to close her crate door and she slept through the night, like magic! She also helped us with other puppy basics, like no nipping or jumping. More recently, our focuses have been on door etiquette and leash walking, and we are so impressed with how well Roxy is doing thanks to everything Juliet has taught us! At 7 months old, she now walks calmly by our sides with a slack leash and little mind to other approaching dogs or blowing leaves (a real feat given where she started!) Our latest challenge is Roxy's fear of the bathtub. Juliet spent time with us in our bathroom developing a plan to slowly get Roxy more comfortable. It's a work-in-progress, but it's coming along and we have no doubt we'll get her where she needs to be with Juliet's ongoing support. I would strongly recommend Juliet; well worth the money! We had adopted a beautiful rescue a few months ago and realized that we needed some help with training to allow our dog Zeke to be comfortable around other dogs and to feel safe. As soon as I met Juliet Prey I knew I had found the right person to help us. Her sincere love of dogs and her gentle ability to train dogs was immediately apparent.I loved the idea of learning to speak dog and not to have to rely on treats. We had great results from the first day. Zeke responded quickly and confidently. She is so encouraging and supportive. Both Zeke and I look forward to more training sessions. I want to start off by thanking Juliet and Bark Busters for all the help with my American Bully (King), I was so frustrated and feeling defeated with how my puppy was behaving . Juliet made me feel confident that all was going to be ok if i stick to the plans amd she was right . Just after lesson 1 i saw great results in King. The best thing I love is that Juliet is always there for me during every step , She just an email away with help and guidance. I recommend Bark Busters best thing I did for my family and King.

We have a Malamute named Buck. If you know anything about Malamutes, they're stubborn like nobody's business. Our first lesson with Juliet was like when you go to your first lesson of learning a new language - which is exactly what it was! Learning to speak dog and learning to communicate. Not just going No! Not that -hey no NoooOoooO no no stop off DOWN leave it!!!". Juliet gave us homework to do and with CONSISTENT efforts

I can't even begin to describe how grateful I am for having Juliet as our trainer.I got my pup as a gift at 8 weeks old and had no clue what I was getting myself into. After a day of frustration and breakdown, I searched for a bunch of trainers online. What sold me on bark busters was right there on the first call, they got my puppy to sleep in his crate for the first time as they stayed on the phone and talked me through ever step. This all before paying or committing - I was sold.Initially, I thought all I needed was crate and potty training. However, after initially meeting with Juliet, she taught me the importance of my pup respecting my space, coming when I call and respecting me as the leader.At 7 months now, he is fully trained in all of the above-mentioned and we're starting on leash training.Juliet is always available when I have inquires, shows up promptly and is my dog-whisper. She encourages me and keeps assuring me it's not about perfection but consistency and progress so on bad days, I don't get too down. Absolutely one of the best investments I have made.

I have 2 larger dogs, one that's young, energetic, always wants to meet people and be the first to everything. The second one is older and sometimes grumpy, always in protect mode. The base concept is so simple, yet with all the technics and different training situations, it's so effective. Juliet has been guiding me for about 2 months now and I've seen huge improvements. I do the same training situations for both dogs, each get certain ones faster than the others. I was given about 8 situations for the first 2 weeks, then a few more after that. With what was learnt in the first 2 weeks, made the next set very easy for my dogs to learn. I highly recommend Juliet and this method of training. After seeing how quick results came, it makes so much sense.
