Precision Blades

I highly recommend Precision blades. Our son is very particular about his skates and knows precisely when they are ready for Steve’s TLC and the “special sauce” that goes on the skates. The edging is perfect and once we started going to Precision we noticed a difference in skating. I also love the fact that the owner, Steve takes an interest in the kids hockey and engages them in conversation.

Why risk having a problem with a skate sharpen? Many times the big box stores do a good job, but every once in a while they screw it up.....and there's nothing worse than being yelled at by my kid on the drive home from a game because his skates were sharpened wrong. It's unnatural. Yelling after a game is the PARENT'S prerogative.

I’ve been going to Steve forever now. He’s the best in the business for anything skate related. Even the kids just want their skates sharpened only by Steve. I don’t even live in town. Precision Blades is worth the drive!

I have been wearing the same pair of skates for over 15 years. The boot started to fall apart and I could no longer wear them. I found a used pair of skates in my size and figured they would do the job. I tried them out in the ice and they were terrible, my worst fear was not being able to skate without “my skates” and my fear was becoming true. I did some research online about blade profiling and found Steve. I drove from Niagara Falls to Oakville with my old pair of skates in hand along with the used pair I wanted him to profile to be exactly like my old ones (they barely had a blade left on them). He told me he wouldn’t profile my blades like my old ones, but I would not be disappointed. He was right. Thanks Steve for fixing my blades, they are a million times better than my old ones. I was able to finish a full season on the ice, which probably wouldn’t be possible without his expertise. Highly recommend, the drive was well worth it!

I’ve been taking skates to Steve and his guys religiously for about 5 years now. Making the drive from Mississauga is not even an afterthought. My son (13yrs) ONLY trusts these guys with his skates and knows if they’ve been sharpened anywhere else. (I’ve used shops in the rinks and the big store when desperate and experienced nothing but disappointment.)The guys at Precision Blades take great care and pride in their work and it shows in the consistency.You CANNOT be disappointed with Precision Blades.

Hi Steve, I was in on Thursday to drop off my son's skates before heading to a hockey tournament this past weekend. I had mentioned to you how superstitious my 10-year-old is and how we always have to bring his skates to you before a tournament weekend. I relayed your message to him that you sharpened a goal in the left skate for him. Just wanted to let you know he ended up with a 4 goal weekend and his team came home with another gold medal tournament win. Needless to say, we will be in to see you later this month before the next tournament! Thanks so much!!

We asked Precision Blades to clean and sanitize our baseball equipment this season (Oakville Minor Baseball Association). They were so pleasant to deal with and very accommodating with the large number of bags we had to drop off and pick up. They made sure all our catcher's gear was cleaned and went above and beyond when cleaning our equipment bags as well. We haven't seen the equipment bags look that clean since we purchased them and they smelled so fresh! Precision Blades made it so much easier for us to get our season underway! We will definitely be back next year!

I’ve been taking my family’s skates here since Steve opened. He has a passion for making his customers pleased. Many will discount the importance of a great sharpening. I for one can’t stand how some places finish(or don’t finish is more accurate) the job. From my experience most places run the skates through a quick couple passes on a wheel And they’re done. Steve and his guys(only the best hand selected guys) do a fantastic job with the sharpen. But also finish the job with soft stones and conditioning which takes the “bite” off. The skates are game ready Robyn away, no need for a quick skate to take the bite off or as you’ve likely noticed some people on the ice rubbing their blades on the plastic bench Step to take that “bite” out. For my kids to be honest one is fairly ho-humm about is sharpening, but the other is very particular, he can tell where I have gotten his skates done, or at the very least if he’s unsure he knows one thing, it wasn’t precision blades.So long story short - hands down best around.And Steve really likes Tom Petty and so do I! That’s bonus points
