Red Top Taxi

Program for stroke patients to travel to Grand River Hospital was arranged with Red Top Taxi. My dad has limited mobility and is wheel chair bound after his stroke, taxi comes today at 12pm and it’s not even a taxi for disabled people but a small old taxi with no air conditioning that reeked of cigarette smoke. You’d think a taxi transporting a patient to an important neurology appointment would not have smoked in their car prior to picking up my 77 year old dad and mother who has asthma. The wheelchair is heavy and could barely fit in the trunk and had had to be tied down to the trunk with it still being open. There was no offer to even at least lift the wheelchair into the trunk, let alone the speeding I felt unsafe in the car as well as my parents. And he ran the meter while just trying to get the wheelchair in the car first and we haven’t even started to move. Red top taxi is unprofessional, car reeked of smoke, wasn’t wheelchair accessible, no help to lift wheelchair, speeding and unreasonable to start the meter when just trying to get my disabled dad into the car first. You’d have better hospitality and customer service taking an Uber. Unprofessional taxi service company.

Fast and friendly service, only issue is the cost but now a days everything is expensive.My driver was very communicative which is hard to find in some cab drivers.Car was clean and got me to my destination safely and quickly which is all that really matters.

I think they need to update the app or something. I ordered a taxi because Uber prices were x5 more than they need to be and it was quite busy I guess. But I got a taxi and the app told me Cab #6 was coming. But I look outside and there is a taxi, number 40 or something. I could not just assume it was for me because I ordered it to the University of Guelph at Mountain Hall and another person could have ordered it and I did not want to steal their taxi and if my taxi was coming, then I didn't want them to wait on me and I had left with another taxi. Anyways, the man starts getting mad at me and telling me to get in the car. He did not know my name nor where I wanted to go, which confused me as I guess putting your address in the app is to just estimate the price?? I am too used to uber maybe, anyways I tell him my address and he is very short with me and rude. 20 seconds later he is asking me how my day is trying to be nice or to get tips. I am not sure. I have not had my day ruined by an interaction with someone for a very long time, but this changed things.

Coming from union, I took the wrong train home and landed in Guelph. Luckily for me, I found an amazing driver named Hakim Ali who drove me all the way home to Clarington, ON (literally the other side of Ontario)Hakim was polite, kind and extremely helpful. I am extremely lucky to have seen him when I got off the station with minimal phone battery and being semi panicked.I am home safe thanks to him. Very appreciative to him and red top taxi services to bringing me home safe to my daughter and family.

I've got a car so I usually don't use taxi, but I've got a flat tire so today I was out of luck. Called in and got a loud good morning!" And knew I was off to a good start. Cab arrived and it was the sweetest elderly lady driver. It was only a 5 minute drive in but I'm glad to know this sort of service is still out there."

Very slow to respond. Told my husband they’d be here in 5 minutes and 30 minutes later they aren’t here. He missed his GO train and he kept having to call. They said the driver turned his meter on and off to make it look like they’d come. When people have to get to work, you shouldn’t have to call 3x! Will never call this company again.

Disgusting taxi service. They are very very very slow. Even they don’t have manners how to talk on the phone. I ordered taxi at 5:25 am because i start work at 6:00am. Now it is 6:12am, i still do not have any update where the taxi is. When i called to cancel it, the lady on the phone was so rude and she didn’t even let me complete my sentence and she disconnected the call. Go home and Learn some manners.

My family and I had an unfortunate breakdown in Guelph on oyr way home to Owen Sound this Easter weekend. There were four of us, AND a dog, and luggage. Redtop got us so fast, and the driver helped with our luggage and they were kind about us having a pet. They got us to the hotel and my hubby has used them twice more to get to the car and the car rental service with fast, great service each time. Thank you!

Booked a cab during snow storm using app, rider didn’t wait and took another customer without any notice. After i reach him and said I booked; he started cursing and told me to call another cab. He even got out of the car and was ready to fight.I mean what is this customer service. He really needs some lessons on that.Cab 37 Toyota Prius was the cab. Just cancel the ride if you get it.
