Wonderful staff and great animal food and supplies. I got five happy healthy chicks there last summer and have been buying my food there ever since. I live right near a different feed store, but I happily drive half an hour away to shop at Dixon's.

I love supporting small local businesses. A big reason I decided to move to the countryside, to part of a small community and know my neighbours.I've had 2 experiences with Dixon's and both times they have been disorganized. I'm actually disappointed that I even have to write this review.Last year, I called to order ready to lay hens. I was told they were sold out for that month, but then I received a random call weeks later that my hens were ready for pick up.This year, I called to order 6 hens and was told the order was full and next one wasn't until Sept. I asked for them to call me if anyone were to cancel. I never heard back. Weeks later... I received a call this morning at 7 that my 6 hens were arriving later today. I'm not an a$$ and going to leave the store with 6 hens.While paying, 2 employees were talking about possibly being stuck with too many hens. I told them to call me if they did end up with too many extras, as well I posted in a local fb group that the store MAY have extra hens today. I didn't know it would be such grief though.This is my biggest problem, besides the disorganization. The store has my number, instead of calling me to say the post was causing too many inquires, I was publicly shamed on FB by a customer of theirs who was in the store today saying the employees were ranting to them about the headaches they were getting from the calls.So for that, 1 star for the very poor customer service.
