My review has suspiciously disappeared so I’ll just post it again…This is one of the lab schools of George Brown College used as a placement/internship for ECE students, as someone who used to be one of those students I can tell you that this is an extremely toxic and terrible child care.As an ECE student, the children made my time very enjoyable at this internship, however the staff were beyond rude and unprofessional. My supervisor Susy shouted at me and harassed me every single day in front of the children, just about over anything. At one point she even pulled me out of the classroom and into the office where she berated me for an hour, telling me how much of a terrible student I am and why I should just quit now before things get worse. She was asking me personal questions and made negative inferences based on my responses, it is none of her business what I do outside of the internship and therefore was none of her business to make comments on my life choices. As a result, I spent countless moments sitting in the washroom and crying. Susy is an extremely rude, unpleasant teacher and an unpleasant human being, who favours some students and despises others. Sorry Susy, just speaking the truth. They would tell us that in order to be successful in our internships, we need to observe our supervisor and “mimic” them as they work, but how can I “mimic” my supervisor if she is clearly unprofessional? Other staff members were not helpful either. I’m not sure if it has something to do with my gender… I am well aware that there are not many men in the ECE industry, and I will not have a bunch of miserable teachers telling me what I should do for a living. This is a terrible childcare and I do not recommend it to anyone.I also witnessed a teacher named Daniella grabbing a child by the arm and pulling very hard while shouting “there is no more space, why aren’t you listening to me?”. If I was a parent, I would for sure not leave my children here for even a minute.P.S. If you’re an ECE student at GBC and you get a placement here, reject it. It’s really not worth your stress and energy.
