We take both of our dogs here and receive excellent care. Everyone from the administrative staff to the techs to the doctors are friendly, compassionate, and helpful. You can tell they really care about their patients.I cannot recommend them enough!

Halifax Veterinary Hospital is truly a wonderful place and Dr. Croft is a true cat lover. I can't think of a better and more knowledgable person to entrust my beloved Miss Petunia's to. Her calm, caring, and non-interventionist approach is what everyone values, and I know I am not alone in considering her one the best in in her field. 13 years taking my dog to this vet and when I needed them to see my dog for an emergency they turned me away. The staff working the front counter didn't even attempted to help, they just kept telling me to go to another vet. It's a shame because I did like this vet, but after this I will never return.Luckily, I found an amazing vet in Windsor that took him right away, examined, ran blood tests, figured out what was going on, relived his pain and prescribed medication which fixed the issue.

this is a great clinic! I really enjoyed my experience here and felt like the Vet and Tech’s took the time to answer my (many) questions. I also appreciate the fact that they explained the risks and benefits of a specific vaccine for my cat without pushing me to do one thing or another. At another vet i've been too i felt like they were trying to upsell me services or products that my cat didn’t really need. Thankfully this was not the case here. They are knowledgeable, friendly and made the process as easy as possible on my pet.

UPDATE: (AFTER ONE YEAR)--- this Hospital has my phone number, they have my email on file and they have my mailing address, i have called twice, THEY HAVE NOT REACHED OUT TO ME for a follow up! They have not attempted to compensate me or try to fix what had happened, instead they replied to my review with LIP SERVICE, which they APPEAR to try and fix the situation when in fact they did nothing but wanted to appear to the public as if they had. This vet hospital is a stain on our city and they should be ashamed!------- (FULL REVIEW as follows) I will NEVER be going back here! I am Visually impaired (Legally Blind) I have a working dog.I took her in to get some Vax's and shots for her. The Dr informed me that she needs to come back for her follow up shots and was told it was very busy in the clinic and they will call me with the appointment. I called back in the spring to follow up when i can expect my appointment and they told me i missed it. They never called or emailed and i now have to start the regiment of shots all over costing me alot of money. THEIR lack of organization and communication failures resulted in this. I tried to forgive and move on and was willing to pay again for more shots, At the first Appointment my vet realizing i had special needs responded to my question about cutting her nails (Because i am legally blind) She said You do not need to make an appointment

I'm so thankful the staff was able to fit us in quickly because of a cancellation. We had an excellent consultation with the doctor who was most helpful and responsive as well as very gentle with a scared pup. Thank you all.

We recently switched to this vet from another popular clinic and I am so happy we made the change.Previously we felt as though our vet didn’t care and didn’t want to take time to find a lasting solution for our dogs issues. However, we saw Dr. Kevin here and wow, what a positive experience. Our dog gets very stressed out at the vet and can at times be reactive to vets/assistants coming in and out of the examination room, but the staff and doctor handled it all extremely well and the receptionist worked with me to ensure that we could take our dog into the clinic alone so that she wouldn’t be reactive to any other dogs or cats waiting for their appointment. This was greatly appreciated as she can get a bit reactive on leash - we had problems at precious clinics that would refuse to do this.The visit was such a success. Dr. Kevin thoroughly explained what some of the underlying issues may be and helped us understand what steps we can take to manage our dogs condition. The treatment he gave already has our dog showing improvement just a few hours post appointment. If you’re thinking about switching, or starting treatment at this clinic I highly recommend. It’s such a relief to have a clinic that actually seems to care about the pets and are comfortable working with high anxiety/reactive dogs!

Due to my own negligence, I arrived an hour earlier than the appointment time, which caused them to start Simba's physical examination half an hour earlier. During the physical examination process, the nurse and doctor were very patient and friendly, and it was a great experience.
