The Ken Hoehn Gallery

I always look forward to visiting Ken’s gallery. It’s a must do when I’m in Canmore. His artwork is stunning but it’s the stories of the pieces that make me fall in love. If you are lucky enough to be there while Ken is there, ask him about his pieces and he will tell you a story and what goes into his wonderful creations. My collection started with a cute little bird (Resolute Blue) and has grown from there. Visit the gallery and you will have a wonderful experience. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.

I was walking down Main Street in Canmore September 2021 and looked into the Ken Hoehn Gallery as my eyes were drawn to an amazing photo of a waterfall that jumped out at me. Upon entering, I was blown away by the amazing photos of my favourite Alberta areas - The Three Sisters, Moraine Lake, Johnston Canyon, and so many other mountain ridges and of course, all the amazing wildlife this area has to offer.It was then I was greeted by Rob, who wasn’t the cameraman, but spoke such eloquently and detailed about each photo as through he was there himself. I FaceTimed my wife who was back in Ontario and showed her some of the pieces I fell in love with. As there were too many to choose from, I decided to wait until December when we were out together to decide which ones we wanted. I still went back again by myself the next day to look again, and that’s when I met Ken Hoehn.If you think Ken is an amazing photographer, you’ll be equally impressed by his storytelling abilities. They say a picture can say a thousand words, and I would say that for each of Ken’s photos, he can also say a thousand words. Every piece has an incredible story of how the picture became a reality - the weather, the scenery, the background - all important to Ken to share with his audience. Although these stories made me want to take some right away, I had to wait for my wife to help decide.My wife and I returned in December with our one daughter to make some decisions as to pieces and sizes. Because we couldn’t completely decide in the showroom, Ken and Kylie came to our suite and spent almost 4 hours mocking up the art pieces we were interested in and showing us not just how it would look on the walls, but discussed with us the different glosses that would best fit the indoor and outdoor lighting in our suite to maximize the artwork. After a great evening, we finally decided on the 5 pieces we wanted.Ken was amazing at keeping us up to date on arrival times and even set up the installation of our pieces. We were super excited to return to Canmore in March 2023 to see our suite with our new artwork. WOW. That’s all we can say. WOW. But, it wasn’t enough. We visited Ken again at the gallery because we had another wall that we needed to add a piece for. So we did. And a couple days later, we had to return to the gallery for 2 more pieces that we really wanted and made space for on our walls.We had to wait until our current trip, here now in July 2022, to see the final outcome. The first photo I fell in love with was the last to be installed. What I wanted was to be blown away by the entrance into our suite, the same way I felt walking down Main Street and looking into the gallery. Well, when we arrive, boom. It was there. That WOW factor. When you walk into our suite, you feel as though you are at Johnston Canyon - right in the middle of the mountains, surrounded by rocks and trees and the beautiful waterfalls. As you walk through the suite, you can’t help but feel like you are in a mountain town, surrounded by amazing images of mountains and wildlife, captured in a moment of time, for you to continue to admire and be in awe of their beauty.With 8 pieces so far, we can’t express enough how grateful we are for Ken and his eye which has captured so many amazing moments-in-time that we and our guests can enjoy even if we can’t make it outside to experience our own adventures. One doesn’t even have to leave our suite to experience the mountains and the wildlife, even in different seasons.Thank you Ken and your Team for amazing customer service, amazing artwork, and an amazing friendship that has formed, all because the Life Choices piece jumped out at me from your back wall in the gallery to Main Street as I was walking by. My wife and I visit Canmore every year for her birthday and always visit the Ken Hoehn art gallery in Canmore. There’s so many stunningly beautiful pieces to admire.We married in Canmore this year and, of course, visited the art gallery in Canmore again. When I viewed the piece entitled “Our Time In Canmore” I knew it would be the perfect Christmas gift for my wife. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely continue to visit every time we are in Canmore and look forward to our next purchase.

One word to summarize my experience: Spectacular!From the moment I met Ken and Matt, I knew that we would enjoy working together. I saw some of Ken's photography pieces in another local business in Canmore, and I knew that this was exactly what was missing from my own new business premises. Since we specialize in vision, these visual masterpieces would work wonders. We had many blank walls to choose from, and I was not at all sad at the end of the day to order a few more pieces than what I had originally set out to purchase. I have since also started looking at the walls in my home and am planning to eventually have some pieces purchased for there too. Since the artwork was installed in my business exactly one week ago, I have had many, many comments on the stunning photography that we have put onto our walls. Everyone that comes into our clinic appreciates the way that Ken has captured the beauty and magical light of our mountain home and beyond. Thank you so much Ken and Matt and the Gallery!!

I was visiting Banff and noticed a photo gallery along Canmore. The photos caught my eyes and went in, I was fascinated by all the nature pieces when this particular picture caught my eyes. Mr Ken Hoehn himself told me how close he was when he took photos of these Loons and that this was also his favorite picture. He called it “Spirit Voices” because if you search what sound they make it is impressively eerie. I love this photo mainly because it is such a conversation piece, you have to look closely to notice the fog on background because initially it can look like a painting. This photo fits perfectly by the fireplace and arrived just in time for Christmas!I definitely had a wonderful experience at the gallery, the staff were all informative and friendly. I will definitely go back to find another perfect piece for our home.

The art gallery in Canmore that is the Ken Hoehn Gallery is awesome. We love Ken's work, especially his wildlife pictures (but they are all beautiful, really); there are such great stories behind each photo. We have quite the collection of his work and are actually running out of wall space...haha.

My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Ken while visiting his art gallery in Canmore. We had been looking for a particular piece of art to go into our home. When we spoke to Mr. Hoehn, he was an absolute gem and had such a passion for what he does. I will be purchasing more images from him in the future. I have been into Kens gallery multiple times but the last time I was there, so was Ken! I got a chance to ask all sorts of questions about how he names his art, time taken for various photos, techniques used etc. It was incredibly informative and it was fantastic talking to such an experienced and intelligent man. The effort, skill and heart that he puts into each of his photos is very evident and perfectly displayed in the variation and quality of every piece. I highly recommend speaking directly with Ken, if given the chance, so you can gain a more intimate connection with his art. I wish I wasn't limited by wall space and money lol.

Ken Heohn's inspired and masterful nature photography are well displayed in his galleries. Friendly staff, rich selection and price accessibility make collecting his works an adventure and a joy.

Ken and his staff are awesome. I have now purchased 4 prints from Ken and love everyone of them. I went with color and black and white. They bring so much peace when I sit and just look at them. Sometimes for hours lol…
