Worst vet ever. Beware… both vets i’ve seen no professionalism what so ever. Made it hard for me and family both times. They have no idea what they are doing there.Other places my family has been to completely different. I would never recommend this vet even to my worst enemy. Complete and udder disgust.

CASH GRABBING LIARS. So many issues with this veterinary clinic. Our experience was awful. My partner & I were fed misinformation about costs and services received. We have a very healthy 3 year old cockapoo and this clinic attempted to swindle over $1000 in cumulative hidden fees from us in our first 6-weeks of joining the clinic. The clinic uses fear-mongering tactics and purposefully omits information about the services and treatments your pet is receiving - you will be left with sticker shock after each visit, no matter how much upfront information you request. I would not be surprised if they fabricated or exaggerated lab test results in order to induce customers to purchase further treatments. I am shocked and disgusted by the lack of morality shown by this clinic. Shameful behaviour all around.

My beloved kitty Bliss died this Tuesday at the age of 10. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Mendonca who provided Bliss over the years with the best care that can be ever found, loved her as much as we did and did everything she could to make Bliss comfortable in her last hours. I also would like to thank Dr. Meredith for helping Bliss to find peace. Over the years I moved around and had to bring both of my kitties to different hospitals but we always returned to Westside Animal Hospital because nobody offered them better quality of care with the best interest of the animals and us at heart than Dr. Mendonca. Thank you again.

SCAM ARTISTS! This was by far the worst Vet clinic I’ve ever experienced. After our first visit they convinced us our dog needed 3 different vaccines and subsequent boosters. They booked us for 4 additional appointments, however failed to mention they were booking them on the last day of the vaccine window. Meaning if we needed to cancel/reschedule they said we now had to start the process over, and pay for another two vaccines. After some back and forth they agreed to get us in the next day and give the booster. However they had blatantly lied to us about the cost of each telling us it would be $36.00 for each. After the vaccine they said it would be 155$ for the vaccine plus the standard fee for the “exam”. Which is the price we’d have to pay each time at all subsistent appointments which they booked for us. Not to mention the staff I spoke to yesterday said the appointment today was for the Rabies booster. Which I later found out does not exist and the vaccine we were receiving was something completely different altogether that they said they told us about during the initial visit. Needless to say we we’ve canceled all the upcoming appointments and we’re changing Vets. But word of warning for anyone that doesn’t want surprise bills with minimal care.

My experience at VCA Canada Westside Animal Hospital was the worst and I regret taking my dog here. My dog was booked to get spayed and VCA recommended that I give my dog Trazodone to help calm her before the surgery. So Trazone was prescribedthe doctor told me to give her one pill at night and the other one on the morning of the surgery. Reception told me to administer the medication the same. When I got home I saw that I was given 3 pills in total of Trazodone. If my dog was only supposed to have 2 pills in total why was i given 3?? Its all money making with this vet. I gave my dog the medication as indicated - one at night and one in the morning of the surgery. My dog acted weird the night of the first dose but I thought that it was due to the medication but by the morning my dog was out of it she couldn't stand on her own she was shaking was extremely anxious, stressed, panting heavil and ycrying. I rushed her to VCA ahead of my booked appointment for her surgery and explained everything to them and I was in tears and scared for my dog and they told me that they checked her and that her vital signs are fine and sent me home not to worry. An hour after VCA called me and told me that my dog was overdosed with the medication and that they were going to induce her to vomit and monitor her and that the surgery to spay her would not be able to proceed as she can go into cardiac arrest. The medication dosage was prescribed wrong and they failed to give proper instructions for administering the medication. I was devastatedand and heartbroken for what my dog went through. My dog is a toy Yorkie and is only 6 lbs. I had to pay $491.07 for the vet bill. I complained to the manager and she was very unsympathetic and almost as if i was talking to a robot and not a human being and said that she would take off $45 off the bill for the unforeseeable vet bill. I filled a complaint with the College of Veterinarians of Ontario and found another vet. I honearly thought that i wasn't going to see my dog alive again. I can't trust VCA ever again. Please be aware.

All of the vets and staff at Westside clearly care so much about the animals they treat. Everything they recommend is always explained very thoroughly - from talking about preventatives to my pup’s complex kidney issues. My pets can be difficult at the vet and they have always been awesome. It’s tough seeing your pet anxious, but I’m thankful for their patience and that they offer some good meds to help calm my typically angry cat (pictured with a cone on). They also have a program that you can get your pet’s food delivered to your home on an auto-order basis so that’s super helpful as well!

Worst experience. Horrid really and truly. Vet had so much attitude and whole thing was unprofessional. Our pet deserved better than that. I still have nightmares. Take your pet somewhere else.

I am frustrated and extremely disappointed with my visit to this hospital. I regret taking him there. I took my cat here two months ago when it appeared he was injured, in pain and was suffering from incontinence. The doctor who took a look at him said it was urinary crystals. I informed her that another vet from my home country took a look at his video and mentioned it could be a spinal cord injury. But the doctor ignored my words completely and kept suggesting that it was urinary crystals. Her diagnosis was as he can walk, it isn't an injury (yes, my cat was walking fine that day). So, she did not even take a look at him properly though I mentioned that he seems to be in pain whenever I touch his back. Just because he was walking, it was so irresponsible for the doctor to be so adamant and not be thorough with the diagnosis. She suggested a urine test for 400 cad which I denied, because I knew it wasn't urinary crystals though I am no doctor. She advised some tablets and dietary changes for him, which wasted a week for me.Eventually I had to take my cat to a different vet, who acknowledged the possibility of an injury and paralyzed tail. My poor baby suffered for a long before he was put to sleep as they determined he was paralyzed and may not have a quality of life. I regret that VCA was the first vet I took him to, and they wasted our time and delayed the diagnosis process and attention he needed, just because the doctor was confident it was urinary crystals and did not give a heed to what I was telling her. I regret it mainly because spinal cord injuries are addressed during the initial days, and if they are delayed, they are most of the times irreversible. So, I regret that he got a bad vet at his first visit. May my baby rest in peace. May my review help other pet parents make a wise decision of taking their babies to better vets.

Terrible place zero customer service. Overly expensive... Was quoted a price on the phone go to to pay and it's almost double the price. No apology from the person working at the front I'll take business elsewhere and tell my dog friends (over 30 dogs in this area) to go to another vetSTAY AWAY
