We have been working with Cara for basic training for our very playful, energetic and friendly 3 month old German Shorthaired Pointer. She has been amazing! Within one session with Cara, we found ourselves with a more manageable puppy. Our puppy also loves working with Cara. Cara really cares about what she does and it definitely shows! She arrives on time and knows exactly what to do. She’s also available to field any questions or troubleshoot any situations for 2 weeks after your session. We highly recommend her to anyone!

I had a private agility lesson with Cara with the goal of improving my course time. Cara was able to quickly identify areas to improve my handling. She patiently explained and demonstrated actionable steps. I am certain that once I am more practiced, and can put her suggestions into action, that our course time will improve. Active Paws is fantastic! We have used them to watch our two cats over several vacations, and they're always very trustworthy and courteous. They will even send us photos of our cats so we know they've visited and everything is okay. Their store has a surprising amount of pet supplies for such a small space, and their prices are competitive with the larger stores on some items (I'd rather shop locally anyway). Cara and her staff are always friendly and very accommodating when it comes to making reservations for pet sitting. They almost always have availability, even around holidays. Parking near their shop is not ideal, but there's usually room somewhere nearby to park.Excellent service and a great company for all your pet needs!

While Cara was helpful in the beginning, it wasn’t helpful long term. The way Cara teaches is the equivalent of a parent trying to not use the word “no” when raising their child. She helped us get over some hurdles but to tell someone who’s dog jumps a lot, and is a literal PUPPY and just excited, to rehome them, isn’t it. If your dog is super young, this is a good choice for training. But nothing long term.
