Smitty's Oyster House
Tried to come to Smittys a few times, but it was too busy. We ended up going on a Thursday afternoon and got a table right away. It is very clear why they are so busy. The food is so fresh and well made. The oysters were the best I’ve had. Beautiful view and very friendly staff. Will be coming back again!!

This place jumps(!), the vibe is eclectic and the food is definitely worth coming back for. In warmer weather, get a seat outside if you can. Service was good given how crazy busy the place was and we LOVED the unique presentation: All dishes arrived at the same time on a huge cutting board so it was easy for us to share our meals and take a little of this and a little of that". Excellent service and food. Highly recommend going early as they could run out of fresh oysters and mussles early on during the day. We had a platter of cooked oysters, prawns, scallops, crab bucket. All had excellent flavour however found the toppings on the cooked oysters overpowered the flavour of the oysters.

We've been here many times in the past but we're a little disappointed this time. Service was very slow even just asked us if we wanted a table. I recognize that they are busy however so acknowledgment when you sit down would be nice. Once we did place our order the beers came very quickly which was nice and they were cold. The cod fritters are excellent also. Staff was a little bit gruff which put us off just a little bit.

Prawns and fish fritters were good, definitely wouldn’t order the muscles again. Service was good once they got to us, took quite some time.

Hidden at the bottom of the stairs, it is worth finding. Excellent selection of oysters (not a surprise) is complemented by a full menu, with even some items for the non-seafood eater. Number 1 choice in Gibsons

Smitty's Oyster House
Stopped by for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised by how good this place is. Seafoods are really fresh and sweet. The oysters we ordered are from the East coast and they are less fishy and more refreshing than the West coast ones. Chowder is very creamy and flavourful. My fav is the oyster dish, there's piece of charred pork belly underneath, which gives it a more complex flavour and another layer of texture, such a great dish!

A slice of waterfront marinaside summer bliss.Wide variety of fresh oysters - check.Good selection of beverages - check.Great halibut bites and fries - check.Smitty's has been one of our long-time favorite places, but especially in the summer. Both the Gibsons and Vancouver locations are great.

The location is great and the food was decent. Maybe not the best spot for a single traveller looking for dinner.It came recommended by some clients so I wanted to try it!My server was a little rude when I asked if one of the dishes was more appy or meal sized (they don't distinguish on their menu). Guess he figured I should already know. - even though it was my first time.I would go again with a group, maybe, but I doubt I'll ever be back on my own.
