Fantastic venue; but take a taxi because there's No Parking lot. There's a Safeway 2 blocks away that I parked at.

Calgary Opera presents first rate opera productions consistently year after year. The musicians, costumes, and theatrics thoroughly entertain and the quality is top-notch each time. We would also recommend their opera brunches, emerging artist concerts and summer opera productions which make opera very accessible. We attended last La Bohème opera and brunch.

Calgary Opera has presented a remarkable sequence of great productions since 1972, and is the country's leading opera company in the production of new works. Probably the country's friendliest and most accessible opera company, although I hasten to add that POV in Victoria is also very approachable.

Re: “The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs”. I bought tickets as Christmas gifts since my family are trying to get less “stuff” & share more quality time.To start Calgary Opera have the NICEST staff! Like the BEST. Both the box office gal I spoke to when I had to unfortunately return one ticket because of illness to the head of Communications & Marketing we met at the show. Absolutely wonderful women with an infectious, joyful passion for the medium & great knowledge. The show itself was magnificent. I grew up with a mum who took me to Calgary Opera on the regular but hadn’t been for years. While I enjoyed the “spectacle” of classic operas seeing a modern one with a contemporary story, relevant to my life (& my 22 yr old sons,a budding electrical engineer) was fantastic. I hope Calgary Opera really pursues more modern scripts. My initially tiny bit sceptical son LOVED it!The set was FABULOUS, really creative & captured the tech of the saga but also embraced Job’s rather hippy, nature loving side. The entire supporting cast & the leads were excellent & sang amazingly while making the sung dialogue very accessible. A plus is bold electronic “subtitles” you can also read while watching to further appreciate the story.I enjoyed this innovative production so much it is making me consider re-seeing some of the traditional shows from my youth. The modest price point of tickets certainly makes this genre of entertainment a bargain compared to Broadway for example (which I also love). This show by Calgary Opera gave me the same sense of exhilaration for literally a third or less of the price. Only 39.$ a ticket for incredible seats. Check Calgary Opera out, you won’t be disappointed.

A fantastic Bel Canto learning experience with Mel Kirby, Host and Pianist, the McPhee Artists and Jonathan Brandani, the Artistic Director of Calgary Opera!

Loved it. It was very intense for a 5 and 9 year old, though with a difficult message.
