Honestly the staff is mostly great when the ER is open that's right that's not a typo they regularly close the ER a few days a week which means when they are open expect to wait 4 to 5 hours to see a doctor if there is one in.... If there is not a doc the nearest hospital is the cape Breton regional which is about a half hour drive or so which could be the difference between life an death in an emergency

The hospital really is in horrible shape, the building itself is shameful. However, the staff are outrageously kind. My family docter is one of the kindest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, and most of the other workers there are similar in benevolence. ❤
