COBS Bread Bakery

Generally pretty decent for a chain. Consistent products and service. If you want something truly exceptional you may need to go to a smaller operation. That makes this place great because it is so accessible and consistent. In urban areas you generally don't need to drive far and the parking is free. They have a punch card for loaves of bread as well.

The bread is super soft and the scones are absolutely delicious. The sourdough buns are a nice sense bun. Great for stew and soups. Yummy...

I love Cobs sourdough, have for many years, but after moving from Airdrie (where it was amazing) to Sherwood Park something is missing at the Baseline store. The first time I bought a loaf here It tasted like a loaf of white bread, no sourdough tang. It was also over baked so when you toast it the crust burns but the bread itself stays pale. The second time it was good and consistent to what a Cobs sourdough loaf should be. Then the third and fourth were much like the first. I have never experienced this at any Cobs I have been too across BC and Alberta so maybe it just comes down to this particular franchise? I love that you are so close being down the street from me but I will be driving farther to try another Cobs, sorry.

I drove all the way from Fort Saskatchewan and they're already closed due to covid. The least they could do is update their maps hours

You want bread, scones, cinnamon bun and other bread related products then this is the place. It smells heavenly when you walk in and to see the bread in the racks the ambiance is great. The service is excellent and very helpful. Just love this place cause I love bread. It’s open and airy, clean and well lit.

For mouth watering fresh bread and other flour based delights Cobs is hard to beat.You're guaranteed to walk out with more than you intended.So good.....

Fast and friendly service here, but the quality is not what I'm used to from cobs. The sourdough isn't as sour, it almost tastes more like white bread. Also, it had a much harder crust to it as well, over baked maybe? I also picked up some mini cinnamon buns with frosting. I had one and could swear it was stale. My wife just got home from work, had one, said exactly the same thing before I could even mention it. The sticker says fresh, I'm hoping thats the case. Just something a little different at this location maybe? I've only been to this location twice now, and both times I had the same issue. I'll probably check out the other location to see if its something about the area vs what i'm used to from our old neighbourhood. Hope they were just having an off couple of days, at random.

Great place, and smell so good on entry. Lots of varieties to choose. Samples to try. Awesome cinnamon buns. Bread is fresh, no preservatives, can get sliced or unsliced. Just wish you bought butter with you, so you can eat a slice right there! Friendly and helpful staff. Remember to get your bread card stamped, to work on that next free loaf.
