As stated by other reviews here, the customer service is non-existent. I ordered Yugioh cards from here and one of them came in as a different edition than what I ordered. I called and emailed them twice about it, zero response from email and a dodgy response on the phone. Save yourself the hassle and shop somewhere else.Update: A technical issue in their system prevented me from receiving their emails. The store reached out to me again and resolved my issue. Thanks a lot!

I have repeatedly given this establishment a chance when looking for all kinds of hobby products from Magic the Gathering sealed products or singles, to Dungeons and Dragons books, and beyond, but every time I stop by I leave disappointed. Previously when I inquired about a newly released item I was actually laughed at by a staff member and told good luck." Most recently I stopped in off chance to purchase a mtg single that I wanted which they showed having on hand. I was told by the staff member that I would have to look through the showcases myself in order to find the card if I wished to purchase it. I looked for 2 minutes before giving up as there was no sign of the card

I've made a purchase of a single card at this branch on January 2nd and was not very satisfied with the condition that the card arrived in. The card was described as NM but appeared more LP. It did not look NM at all. The card has a noticeable bend on the top right corner of the card and looks very dirty with specks hardened onto the card on both sides. I've reached out to their customer support on their website to no avail and emailed them a couple days after with no response as well.

David was not only extremely helpful but was also incredibly kind! You can tell he has a genuine interest in the hobby! Store prices are extremely fair, wednesday night Pokemon is super fun. Top notch place, top notch employees, and also big shoutout to David again! :)

Helpful and insightful staff, large variety of products, fair and welcoming playing environment. Highly recommend to both new and experienced tcg players.

Carta Magica is a great local store selling collectibles, trading card games, and board games. Items are well priced and the staff is good to offer suggestions with personal product knowledge.

I’ve been trying to shop there over the years and most often MTG singles are out of stock. Even the most basic needs. It’s unfortunate. I’ve stopped browsing and go elsewhere.

This is without a doubt, my honest experience at Carta Magica in Ottawa.To those thinking of giving them your business, I wanted to share my experience as openly as I can and why you should think twice before giving them your business.I am a new collector of vintage Pokémon and Yugioh cards and have given them my business a number of times. This is the result of 5 transactions.As a paying customer and one that has given business to them well over $200, I never treated like a welcomed customer.Here is my experience.I was treated on numerous occasions like a less-than-ideal collector. Shadowless Pokémon cards were being kept away from me because they did not want to sell them to me. They guarded them even when I offered to purchase them as a customer? Cards that I can order from them online too? They are there for purchase right?On a separate occasion, I asked if they are interested in trading vintage Yugioh cards for inexpensive Pokémon cards. I was told over the phone “yes we can trade yugioh cards, see you soon!” so I drove down to negotiate a trade. I showed 10 cards that are in decent shape. The employee behind the counter looked at them for 15 seconds and handed them back saying they are worthless and so damaged no one would by them. He also said they are not “playable” in tournament. They never even explained to me why and didn’t encourage me to return with other cards or help me with anything else. A complete failure of an experience. I was also a very polite customer.They are also disorganized. I have purchased one holographic card (victreebell) and one reverse (porygon). Both were sold to me as holographic cards only to have them handed to me as non-holographic. That was a $27 difference. How is that ok as a paying customer? Who signed off on it? I had to drive back for them to make corrections to my order.Honestly, the lack of personal skills from the staff make this establishment an unwelcoming, antisocial and “exclusive” business.All in all, their online catalogue is highly organized, but the brick and mortar experience was lacklustre and definitely one you should avoid.As far as reputation, everyone who I’ve spoken to about this establishment also mention the far-from-mediocre experience that is cartamagica.If any of the management want to discuss this further, I am happy to speak with them also.0/5 stars. 1/5 because I can’t put a 0.

Went for a Pokemon event at this store. Staff is super friendly and I even sold a ton of cards! Community is the best here.
