Rogers Cable Inc
Okay, so.. I am a cable subscriber. Two and a half years ago I converted to Ignite Services from Rogers! We find Ignite to be a fairly reasonable service and very workable for my special needs son.Having the ability to use the remote to basically control the TV is a good idea. What is not a good idea, is the fact now that cable companies are forcing subscribers to add and pay for additional apps on their systems whether it be Bell or Rogers or any other cable provider, to pay for those additional apps to get programs we used to watch on regular cable!I currently pay in excess of $250 a month for ignite Services which includes the computer. One would expect that paying that much for cable services you would be getting pretty much anything you want. Not the case!! Over the past two years we've seen programs that were originally part of the cable package get moved over to other apps such as Prime, Disney Plus and several others! Originally we had virtually an unlimited number of channels to choose from to view programs at our whim. Now, the cable companies are moving regular programs, and I will use one that is not my favorite to say the least, Days of Our Lives, a soap opera viewed widely across North America, now you can only get it if you subscribe to the app on which it is currently showing! This is without question an attempt by the cable companies to force subscribers to pay more and more money for programming that should be regulated by the CRTC!Rogers, Bell or any of the other cable companies will tell you that you have a selection of several hundred channels! When you take the time to go through those channels and look at what they're offering you're seeing duplicate and sometimes triplicate of the same programming! As well, all of the new programming, new shows and movies Etc are no longer available on your regular channels. Even On Demand, where you would have an opportunity to review old programming series Etc, is subject to subscriber only viewing! This has gotten totally out of hand and, the CRTC needs to be involved and regulate cable companies in order that average households have an opportunity to view the widest range of programming available at a reasonable price! This is without exception something the CRTC needs to be involved with now! Average households cannot afford to spend upwards of $300 and $400 a month for their families to watch TV. Paying for new movies On Demand is not a problem but paying for regular programming that we've had available to us in the past as part of our packages is a major problem! People in Canada need to start pushing back and saying to their cable companies, no I want programming that is complete, diverse and readily available at a reasonable cost! Call your cable company and voice your concern! Until more people do that the big cable companies are just going to keep raking in the profits at the expense of us average subscribers! Please thumbs up to this post!
