Francophone Association of York Region

Nous sommes une famille de nouveaux arrivants francophones. Nous avons eu la chance d’avoir été accompagnés par l’Association des francophones de la région de York (AFRY) lors de notre établissement à Toronto. En effet, ils ont été d’une grande aide lors de notre emménagement dans une nouvelle maison et lors de notre première déclaration d’impôts. Aussi, On nous a fourni beaucoup de renseignements utiles et les rencontres café/chocolats ont été très enrichissantes. Nous voudrions remercier particulièrement Rose-Marie Nguyen pour sa gentillesse, sa disponibilité et sa bienveillance. Merci à tous. On vous souhaite une bonne continuation.

Helps all francophones specially those who just arrived in Canada

This post is strictly about the daycare service offered through Afry.This past winter, my child was signed up to start daycare at the Richmond Hill location in February. The signup process was completed well in advance of the anticipated start date, including the processing of my deposit. The week before my child's start date, I called to confirm everything one last time and was told that the daycare was not going to open after all. I had 2-3 days to find a new daycare in a new city, to which, we had just moved. I have no reason to believe anyone was going to call me, at first I barely received an apology.Horrible communication seems to run rampant in this organization. I didn't receive my deposit in full until September, nearly 7 months after the daycare was cancelled. In that time, I made numerous phone calls and sent numerous emails to get my deposit back. I was always the one initiating communicating to find out what the heck was going on. I can't comment on the quality of the daycare or its staff, but dealing with the administration has been long and painful.
