We had a lovely bike day in Whistler. This is so far the cheapest rental shop in the village. Customer service was super helpful. Viviane explained us very well were we can go for a nice ride. Can highly recommend this store!

Whistler Sports Rentals - Gateway Bikes
Rented 2 performance spec'd Norco Aurum DH bikes for 2 full days riding Whistler bike park (jump lines and tech trails including up to double black). Overall very satisfied with the bikes however couple of comments that I noticed are same as previous reviewers. 1) Pads on the Guide RE calipers looked worn down past dime (1 mm) thickness. No issues with braking performance or noise, etc. but that's too worn out by my standards. 2) Pins on chromag flat pedals were low/worn out and it rained first entire day, so asked to have it replaced. Both bikes were ready to go at 9am with fresh Assegai/Aggressor tires (double down). Call out to Jack, a tech at the shop who helped us a lot (he checked our reservations day before and replaced a worn down flat pedal for me upon request)! Make sure you pay for the insurance. DH helmet included for the rental price which is nice.

I had the worst experience with the e-bikes I rented from them. I’ve tented bikes from so many shops and all different kinds too but they handed us e-bikes which are barely electric.The battery was attached for aesthetics I guess. It didn’t give me any boost, I had to paddle so hard to move the bike. We tried switching gears and set the paddle assist to max. But the battery was soooo weak, it was just a regular bike but for the price of an e-bike.I tried this place after seeing reviews from other users that this place is a bit cheaper than others but it’s not worth it guys.We could not complete the full bike route because we were drained less than half way so had yo go back to return the bikes.Wasted our whole day and money. Won’t recommend at all. The one star is for nice staff.
