Mike's Mutts

We just completed our 4th session with Mike. He has helped us with our timid and leash reactive dog Olly tremendously. Simple suggestions and practise have helped us to be better parents to both our dogs and understand what they need from us for them to better understand our expectations.We would highly recommend Mike and his dogs.

Mike's approach to dog (and human!) training is exactly what we were hoping for. He emphasizes the behavioural aspects instead of traditional obedience training and it helped us relate and respond to our pups' behaviour better. Mike has been an amazing teacher to our two dogs and more importantly to us. His knowledge of behaviour and psychology is unsurpassed and his teaching style has helped us to understand why certain behaviours are happening and to incorporate effective training techniques into our everyday life. We picked our rescue pup... she had been given multiple names, by multiple families in her short life. She didn't listen to anything. Didn't answer to anything. Was a real puller, making walks very difficult. We researched local training sites and ended up choosing Mike's Mutts based on reviews and a quick conversation with Mike.Mike came to our home, started right in with care and love for the dog. Quickly taught us and our fur baby the basics. Over the course of 8 weeks our pup knows her name, plays cooperative and competitive games. She now walks loose leash like a champ, socializes well with other pups has become a polite, well behaved dog.She's not perfect yet of course but the techniques taught to us by Mike are allowing for further improvement week after week.Mike and his truly visible love for dogs has been an amazing experience for us. Mike has done wonders for our out of control puppy. He has given us such great ideas and his training methods are exemplary. Mike's costs are very reasonable and we feel there has been great value in his teachings. He is easy to work with and our dog loves him. Our other dog has been catching up on the action as well and with Mike's help we are building a sold foundation for our relationships with our furry friends. Sending out a big shout out to Mike’s Mutts who does private dog training lessons. I hired Mike to help us with our 20 pound dog, Jimmy, who barks incessantly at big dogs. He is patient and kind and always uses a positive approach when training. He often brings his dog to help with the training. It’s amazing to see how well trained and well behaved his dog is. His rates are very affordable for private lessons and I would highly recommend him. Thanks so much Mike!

Mike and his 2 beautiful girls have helped show us how to be better leaders for our own tenacious pup. We picked a breed far outside of our control without the help of someone special. Mike has educated us, his human clients, how to communicate with our pup to reduce his frustration levels. We soon realized that the dog needed the training, but no where near as much as we did. We have gone ahead with a second session and plan on more over the years for advanced training. His training has been tailored to our needs as they have come up. Dealing with behaviours in real time and coming out to the house for an 'in-between' emergency session. Our dog adores Mike and his beauties. I highly recommend his training to anyone that cares to deepen their bond with their pup. Can't say enough good things.

I have been very impressed with Mike's training and behavioural techniques. Within four sessions, my overzealous Golden Doodle has gone from being an uncontrollable leash-puller to a well-behaved dog walking nicely behind me--it's like dog magic! What an enjoyable experience to now take my dog for a walk and feel in control--actually bonding with my dog rather than the constant, frustrating yanking that used to be our norm. Looking forward to doing a second package of lessons to continue improving life with our dog.

My husband and I recently adopted a 6 month old rescue, who had been in several homes before us. She was not good with her walks, didn’t respond to her name and only really knew one command. We wanted to get some training to help us and decided to with Mike’s Mutts and we areso happy that we did!We have taken 2 courses with Mike for a total of 8 classes and we have seen an amazing change with our dog. Her walks are so good now (she is no longer easily distracted), she responds to her name, she knows/responds to lots of commands and we were taught how to play different types of games with her.There are not enough words to say just how thankful we are for all the help Mike has given us (and our pup) and we highly recommend him!!!

If you are thinking about training your pup, Mike is the BEST guy you can get!
