Let’s start off by saying they are very rude people,They almost killed someone by deep frying clams with the fish and the customer had requested it to be cooked separately but they did not, once it was brought to their attention they were nothing but rude about the whole situation, once someone was said on Facebook they called 2 people out, which isn’t very business like.There food sits on counters for flys sit on, hair in food, the back room is very dirty, washrooms are dirty. They don’t have enough staff and should not be open. They don’t clean or wipe down the tables.Not to mention they scream in little kids faces for no reason.I would NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO COME HERE.Diane’s restaurant is about 5 minutes up the road from them PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME EVEN STOPPING HERE!!!!

Granny's Seafood Restaurant and Ice Cream Parlour
Delicious fried clams and fries — and you get a huge pile of both. The clams were especially well done, with a nice batter that was light and not oily-tasting (no oily fingers after eating, which I appreciate). I also had a sundae with their homemade strawberry sauce, which was delicious too. They have no indoor dining right now — most local folks seemed to be getting takeout — but we ate on the patio tables outside and enjoyed the forest view.

I’ve never had clams as good as I have til I tried Granny’s. Wow. I’ve had Diane’s countless of times and along with most of the restaurants in town for clams and it’s incomparable! Absolutely amazing.

I don't care what anyone says, this is the best seafood restaurant along the way to Parrsboro. I had the 2pc fish and chips and my wife had the clams and chips. The batter to fish ratio was perfect. The fish melted in your mouth. Everything was perfect. In the words of my wife I don't know how Diane's is named number one for clams

Possibly the top food stop along Glooscap Trail Hwy near the Five Islands Provincial Park! Make sure to stop by Granny's Seafood if you are coming from the Halifax direction. They have unbeatable prices for amazing clams, scallops and fish. Lots of options for ice cream too. Chloe is such a bubbly waitress, going above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our experience. She is so full of infectious positive energy and significantly brightened our day! We stopped by twice on our trip :)

Absolutely a must stop on your trip through this lovely province. Good portions good prices and the best service around. Everyone is super friendly and accommodating. Fantastic sweet treats. Highly recommend this stop on your road trip

While staying at Five Island Provincial Park we stopped into Granny’s for lunch. The food was delicious and the helpings were generous. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Even other customers stopped by our table to welcome us to the area and inquire about our travels. Highly recommend.

We heard this was the place to try. Loved the roadside diner vibe. The battered clams were light and not greasy. The scallops were breaded and excellent. Both were generous portions. At the next table the hamburger platter was large and the customer, a local, said it was her usual.

This was a fun little hometown style restaurant.The staff were incredibly friendly and the food was good and at a very reasonable price.We filled up on the food so we didn’t get to try their ice cream but it must have been good as there was a lineup the whole time we were there. Would definitely go back if in the area again.

Granny's Seafood Restaurant and Ice Cream Parlour
This is a fun little seafood restaurant and ice cream stand featuring fresh 5 Island clams. They come in a light crispy batter, served with seasoned fries. The service is friendly and fast. We make a pilgrimage here at least 3 times per season. Fried clams are their specialty, but they also offer scallops, fish and chips, as well as burgers.
