Sadly, once again, Turkstra Lumber has let me down. arranged for a delivery of drywall to be delivered inside on the main floor.They told me they could do it after verifying it was OK and being a simple job and verified the location and entry. They invoiced delivery plus handling. I actually thought Turkstra Lumber was stepping up their service again.Come the day of the delivery they called and informed me that wouldn’t do a delivery inside . The only reason I ordered from Turkstra this time was that they agreed to deliver insideI’ve dealt with Turkstra Lumber for over 30 years . I used to enjoy the service from Turkstra but it seems that they don’t like to do look after the little guy anymore.Over the years, the prices have gone up and their service is going down. This is sad since I like to deal locally.Disappointing!

I have been using Turkstra for the last few months here in Dundas, fantastic quality product (much better than box stores) and fantastic customer service.

It's been a really tough year for trades, and it's so great to deal with businesses that provide the level of customer service that you would give your own customers. Turkstra put together an order for me for century railing system. After fumbling the bag from the start I finally got an order placed. Was told I didn't need hardware and surprise surprise I did. Was told I did not need brackets and yet again I did. So after five trips to three locations I thought I had everything I needed. Turns out I was given a stair railing which is identical to the regular rail except for the massive gaps between ballusters. Now I am unable to return the stairway railing because it was cut and installed. Was told on the phone sorry about that mistake on our end". I am now out $167 after spending $2000 on my 20 linear foot porch railing. As a homeowner and a contractor I am not happy with this result. Pic included is the difference between spacing of the balluster. Looks worse from straight on"

Turkstra Dundas has been nothing but outstanding, especially in the last 14 months since the pandemic started. You get your order fulfilled within an hour typically, the staff is beyond friendly and knowledgeable and the quality of their products has never failed me. I have been a lifelong customer of Turkstra Dundas and will continue to recommend them to everyone I know.

Update on Jan 24 - after an initial response from Turkstra, thanking me for my feedback and indicating some sort of resolution process, saying they would be in touch shortly -- 1 week later and I've heard nothing. Very disappointing.Extremely disappointed in the awful service from our Dundas Turkstra. I ordered a 4 x8 sheet of painter grade 1/2 inch plywood, and asked for the piece to be cut into 10 pieces 18 x 22.75 inches for shelving. It was explained to me there might be some minor splintering of the top veneer as they have only a 24 tpi blade and they also had a 1/8 tolerance on the cuts. I was OK with this as I had hoped that there would be an extra bit of care taken with the 10 cuts that I paid a bit extra for.When I picked up my shelves the next day, 8 shelves were cut to 22 5/8 wide by 17 7/8 while 2 of the shelves were totally out of measure. The worst part was the splintering on many piece of the wood was extreme rendering the shelves unusable. They replaced 2 of the shelves with a 24/48 piece of wood that was cut by a senior yard member, no splintering at all as he explained there was a technique to doing it that the junior staff, who cut the wood, clearly hadn't followed.I end up with splintered shelving, out of measure which i will have to replace at my own cost. If Turkstra is in the business to provide a service to cut wood that I clearly indicated was for shelving and if they do not bother to train their staff in simple measuring and cutting techniques needed, they should not provide the service at all!!! They end up being just like a Home Depot, but with higher prices.....so why bother to give them my business any more?

This review is solely about the customer service Thomas provided. Went to get cedar for a bench project and had the pleasure of meeting this exceptional young man who helped me with selecting and cutting my boards. Thomas went above and beyond to make sure the boards were straight and the cuts were perfect. For this level of service I am prepared to pay premium prices. Thank you Thomas for your kind assistance. The Dundas location is truly blessed to have you.

The staff at Turkstra Dundas are amazing. Were very friendly, and helpful when I first got there, within minutes were asking if it was alright for my two children to have freezes. Lots of great products, timely fulfilment, and efficient. Thanks!
