Southern Port Hotel

Hit and miss with the food . Took my mother out for supper today the owner told us to grab a seat there was two tables available .After 15 minutes of seating ourselves I got up and got our own menus ....waited another 10 minutes then went looking for a waitress who had seen us sit down when the owner told us to pick a table to let her know we were ready to order . Service was terrible staff are not friendly . Waited 25 minutes for our meal my mother's came out half cooked and cold and my fries were burnt and tasted burnt ....I ask a different waitress to heat my mother's supper a little more which seemed like a inconvenience for her so I decided to not comment on my fries and ate my sandwich. ..Another waitress stopped and asked how was our food ...I said my sandwich was great but I could not eat the fries they were overcooked and tasted burned up ....hey reply was oh that's because of the potatoes they taste tangy. .I said no it was a burnt taste ...she just walked away...came back with the bill and laid it on the table I could tell she was disgusted that I had complained and this is not first time there and the staff makes it very clear they do not like me ...I'm not sure what their issue is they all look miserable like they don't Wana be there and don't Wana do Anything . They don't care about their job or the owners reputation of his business they are just flat out rude to customers and don't care ...the guy working in the bar has to be the only nice one there . It's sad I wonder if the owner really cares or takes advantage of knowing that this is the only place to really go in Harbour Breton . Very sad this place could have so much potential and success if they had happy staff with better customer service skills and more ambition to work . Ive been in the bar at times with staff standing around gossiping about other people . After tonight's service I wouldn't even give them a star but wanted to leave this review ....so so sad

Just ate a feed of 3pcs chicken and chips.Boiled peas and carrot, four small peices of chicken, fries and coleslaw and a beer.Chicken: breast was too dry, thigh was delicious. Judge that as you willFries: theyre fries.Boiled veg: theyre vegetables and theyre ok. Canned mixed vegetables almost indistinguishable.Coleslaw: deadly with the fries.In conclusion: im in harbor breton, wabt chicken, and mistake was not made.

Motel was nice enough, having a greco in the building was convenient. The owners are just a little uhhh.. weird. Demanding to clean your room and entering despite Do Not Disturb sign being posted. The Greco is very inconsistent with quality. Good luck being served as this place is a ghost town 80% of the time.

I only went the quarter deck restaurant in the hotel. But everyone was kind, and it had an at home feel. The food prices were very reasonable and there wasn't much of a wait once our order was placed.

The Accommodations were more than expected, we had a Chalet for four people, two bedroom, Kitchen, Living room and Bathroom.The Owners Bill and Tracie took us on a Boat tour of the area you could not find more beautiful views anywhere.Beautiful and accommodating Owners you could not find anywhere.If you plan on a trip to Newfoundland do not leave this area out.

Great location right on the main drag through town. Excellent customer service. There's a pub in the hotel which is where we ate supper and it was also amazing. Besides the pub, there is also a Greco Express in the hotel. Will absolutely be staying here again.

Open year round along with the pizza place that's built right in. Right down the street from a decent grocery store and maybe 15min away from a beach. Very pleasant place for road trippers!

The staff and owners are always incredibly friendly. This hotel has become my home away from home because of the amazing staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and value.
