What a great visit! All of the volunteers were so kind and knowledgeable, and shared so much about the great history of the station, as well as the restoration process. Definitely worth making the time for it!

My husband and I took our 6 year old daughter with us and had an absolutely amazing time!! The staff is absolutely incredible!! We felt like family as soon as we walked in the door. They were highly interactive and helped us learn all about the history of the area!!! My husband was like a big kid all over again!! We will definitely be going back for another visit with our new train family.

Between the tracks, the cars, and the models, the thing that truly makes this place shine is the dedication and work put in by all of the friends of Freeman! Was great to work with the team and excited to see everything they have in store for 23’ and beyond!

If you were a Station Master on any railroad back in the day you will be impressed. This is recreated as they were to the finest detail. Even if you never were around at that time when the telegraph was king, you will enjoy.

Unfortunately they were closed. The museum is under construction. It will open only next spring. Piece of the history of Burlington.

Freeman Station Rail Museum
Considering it just opened in 2017, its evident that a lot of work and care went into the building and the history presented at the site. The building is not very large so would not advise for groups larger then 10 people. There are future plans for a gift shop and a model railway so I am sure this museum will improve with age and love.

Freeman Station Rail Museum
Amazing work has been done here over the past few years, 100% by volunteers who are passionate in saving local railroading history. The station has been saved from demolition, moved, a new foundation poured, the inside restored, a new platform built, tracks laid and the station features many interesting railroad artifacts. Keep in mind that this IS a work in progress, so every time you visit, the place just gets better and better. If you'd like to see it improve faster - consider becoming a volunteer (they can use people with all kinds of skills!) or a donor! Kudos to those who do their best to save history and open such museums to the public for all to enjoy!
