MacKinnon Ravine Park
It's really hard to beat the sunshine, but this location has a wonderful array of tree lined spots to get some coverage from. Good for small groups and gatherings, or for a good walk around the area.

So beautiful - had such a wonderful time biking around the park. It's fairly easy to get there via the bike paths along 102 Ave and it's a great spot to have a picnic.

A beautiful river valley access park with nice views. Nice natural areas and paved paths. Watch for beavers and deer.

Easy with a baby stroller, nice and paved. Not a ton of shade the whole way. From the top to the river is a good 30 min round trip.

The trail is packed gravel, and slopes gently down toward the river. Which makes for a heart-pumping climb out! There are a few access points, some with stairs, and one with a steeper incline. I would rate this trail technically easy, with moderate traits. Dogs are permitted on leash.

I love the entire River Valley park system and this is definitely a place to go if you are looking to simply gaze at the river; see others enjoying nature; taking in a picnic or exploring the thousands of miles of accessible trails.A definite recommendation .. add it to your list of places you must check out.

Great place to reconnect to nature when you can't leave the city. The sounds of traffic are dampened and the birds are abundant, which makes for a good meditative walk

This is a great outdoor experience park. A nice long paved walk past rolling hills and river valley nature. If you are looking for a nice walk, this is your park! Primitive bathrooms are available as well.

MacKinnon Ravine Park is a great place to go for a long walk or bike ride any time of the year. There are plenty of trails that are accessible from a variety of neighbourhoods. You can also head right down to the waterfront of the North Saskatchewan and walk along it for a long ways. Great places to stop and have a picnic as well. Funny to think that this place was at one point going to be a highway!

Beautiful green space with a great walking trail. This park has no washroom facilities and no picnic benches. That being said it is a wonderful walk down the ravine that leads directly to the North Saskatchewan river. And then connects with Government House Park. This area is part of the larger river valley parkway. It’s a good idea to bring a blanket to sit down on and enjoy the river valley scenic area. No picnic sites here but a short walk to Government House Park and there is lots of picnic tables there. Awesome area to explore.
